I would suggest trying on different types when you go shopping because you might fall in love with something you wouldn't have ever imagined. Be open to trying different silhouettes to figure out which you like on YOUR body and not pictures.

I poured over Pinterest to get inspiration. Keep your mind open for different ideas.

I found dresses on Pinterest and ended up saying yes to the dress the consultant picked for me! It’s nothing compared to what I had envisioned.
    .
.Searching for a dress can be overwhelming so remember to have fun!..You may also NOT cry when you say yes (I always thought I would but didn’t. That’s okay)...You may also not say yes to the dress at your first appointment. I went to 4 stores I think...Finally, with covid there may be restrictions on how many dresses you can try and how many people you can bring. I brought my mom and sister. Having less people def made it easier to pick a dress because you will receive a lot of opinions. Stay true to what you love and feel most beautiful/comfortable in.

What kind of theme are you going for? What kind of venue did you book? These two may help you narrow down some style of dresses to look for. For example, if you have a ballroom, a ballgown goes well. But the same ballgown will not work so well in a beach setting. If at a more modern loft or city rooftop venue, a more simple dress with a minimalist look fits well. Search Pinterest for ideas based on your theme and venue.
And as others said, try on different silhouettes to see what fits your body best.

Can you start with what you want as far as sleveless or with sleeves? Long or short?

I started by just going through a on of google images and found styles i liked and got an idea of what i think looked nice. Then i went and booked my wedding venue and got a feel for the environment and then went to the bridal salon and just stated trying dresses on, narrowed them down but my likes and don't likes until i found the prefect one. The ladies in the bridal salons are well equipped to help you as well.

I saw in another post of yours that you're waiting until 2030 to get married? If that's true, you shouldn't even start looking for dresses for another 8 years.

I would recommend trying on different styles! Everybody’s body type is different therefore not all styles will look great on everyone.I envisioned Purchasing an all over form fitting lace...... turns out the all over lace actually did not work for me! I’m 5’7 with an athletic built and it just did not do my body type justice! I actually went with an all over satin/ trumpet style that I didn’t think I would end up with! I tried it on and nearly all the workers/the lady next to me came over in awe. It fits like a glove and works awesome with my shape! I absolutely LOVE it💕 here’s a picture! Good luck!Wedding dress problem 1
