Hello! I am curious about the brides who possibly remade an old dress, maybe mothers, grandmothers, friend, aunt etc. etc.

I was given a dress and decided to wing it and redesign it. Omg was that the most stressful, fun, rewarding and back to stressful thing EVER! Fortunately my Future MIL was a seamstress once upon a time and was able to help me through it all.

I'm so close to finishing mine and I'm finally starting to love it, after many many moments of fear and doubt...

Any brides out there have similar stories/pictures of their before and afters and how they felt about it?

    I love this! There used to be a show where they took family dresses and re- designed them.

    I wish I'd taken more "in process" photos. Showing my FMIL sewing it and what not **regrets** ... I have a couple photos of the dress as we were changing it and oh god did it have some UGLY stages!!!

    These are a couple of different iterations.. the process was exhausting and I tried a couple different things before being happy with it. Haha there was a lot of people saying "It looks pretty" then I'd change it, and they'd admit "oh yeah I did not like how it looked" sheesh!

    Oh my gosh, that change is jaw dropping! You look stunning! But you have to work one of those bow/rose things in somewhere else in the wedding, they are too much, hehe!

    Haha I definitely will be using one or two of the big bow rose things somewhere in the wedding. I'm thinking of wrapping my bouquet in some extra dress fabric.
