I found my dress at my very first appointment. However, if I could give any advice it would be to start early! My wedding is August 10, 2019 and I went to the David's Bridal in February. I fell in love with a dress, they dolled me all up, my mother cried- and then they told me they could not get it in time because of the processing time! I was so sad! Even after finding my dress and falling in love again later in the day, I still look back on that moment and feel a little sad and frustrated. Best of luck! Smiley laugh

I got mine about a month after being engaged, we hadn’t set a date yet but had begun looking at venues.

I got my dress a year out and then it took 6 months to come in. I thought that was perfect timing.

I got my dress about 16 months before the wedding and my reception second dress about 5 months before the wedding (the second one was harder to find and I knew I didn’t want to bustle the first. Too damn big and heavy and would cost the same as a second dress)

I got mine 19 months out. It took four months to come in and a month for alterations.

Your wedding is in about 14-15 month, which is a great time to start looking! It took me several stores/trips to find The One and then 8 months for it to arrive.

I started looking one year out, and it took me about a month to find the one - three bridal stores later. It’ll take me 4-6 months to get the dress in so starting early is always the safest plan! Especially with having alterations done after.

We got engaged in April and I found my dress in May! I had been looking at ideas, of course, but I think that is typical of anyone in a serious relationship headed for marriage, right?

I went shopping at the very end of June. My wedding was originally going to be August 2020, and it was the only time my mom was definitely going to be out to go with me (she lives on the east coast I live in colorado). My dress should be here next month, and now my wedding is set for April 2021, so I’ll have to sit on it for a year and a half. I’m glad I shopped early, it’s so much less stressful to have it already and not have to worry about getting it in time. I was able to take my time, and didn’t have to pick the first dress I tried on that I could get in time. I was fortunate that my dress will be ready and available a month and a half after I ordered it. I’m hoping it won’t need alterations, but you never know.
