Viola, on February 17, 2020 at 10:34 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14
Y’all I need help, my wedding isn’t until Feb. 27 2021 but of course I need a wedding dress and I am super insecure with my body, but also not wanting to spend tons on my wedding dress as my wedding isn’t expensive at all. Cheap wedding dress ideas and cheap ways to get my body right LOL

You could check out azazie. You can try dresses at home for a very small fee. (I think 5-15 dollars a dress) and they have alot of pretty ones under $500. Or amazon Smiley smile

Cocomelody has quality dresses for great prices. I’m lucky enough to live close to the LA store, so was able to go and try on dresses and they were really nice for the prices.

As far as weight loss goes, you need to be in a calorie deficit to lose fat. Stick to nutrient dense foods and track what you eat (all of it! Even the sneaky bites as they add up!) FB has a free group called Free to Be Nutrition. Full of advice and support.

I don’t have any advice for you. I just wanted to say... you got this girl. Your fiancé loves you for you. Be you, be confident, be real. You got this.

I considered dresses from Torrid. They are low cost, I like their clothes, and they are a store geared toward plus size. [They start at a size 10. Eyeroll.] I ultimately chose a MOB dress as I wanted something with color.

David's Bridal does have cheaper options - you just need to make sure they stick to your budget. You got this girl! I was also super insecure about dress shopping, so I just made an appointment one day at David's Bridal and went to look. Azazie I also liked a lot for their quality and prices.

Do some research on second hand gowns. There is a store near me that takes like-new gowns that are less than 2 years old and has them professionally cleaned and repaired if necessary. When I went, they had TONS of designer dresses for really great prices. The only downside was the size selection. As the sizes went up, the selection decreased. The supper skinny bride in the fitting room net to me had hundreds of options, I had a lot less.

On the note of body image- Speak kindly to yourself through this process. It is not easy. I am also very insecure and dress shopping made me anxious. My fittings still make me sweat. However, when I am in my dress, something transforms in my mind. Instead of seeing everything I hate about my body, I look in the mirror and see a happy bride. When you find a gown that makes you feel beautiful, you might not even notice your insecurities too much. Wherever you go, I don't recommend taking a giant entourage. Bring a couple of people who will tell you how beautiful you are. Tell them ahead of time that you don't want any feedback about your body.

I also did a lot of online shopping before I tried anything on. That way I didn't have to go through the trial and error process/ didn't try on any gowns that might make me uncomfortable.

Have you thought about getting a dress second hand? There are lots of stores that cater to this. Smiley smile Personally I shopped at department stores for my dress - BHLDN (Anthropologie's wedding dress store), Nordstrom, and J. Crew all now have a wedding department. I also went to David's. I ended up getting my dress at BLHDN - their prices start at $600 but are typically in the $750-$1500 range. Mine ended up being just under $1500 but it has a lot of lace detailing.

    Good luck!
