I agreed with everybody with the neckline. Should I remove the neck line completely or just leave the sleeves or leave the neckline but cut the part that comes down a little bit ? I’m open to anything! Wedding dress 1

I think you should cut the neckline and remove the sleeves

If you are unhappy with the top of the dress, I would highly suggest continuing to look for a dress that you love as is. I say this because right now the structure and support of your dress is hinging on the top. If you remove the sheer material at the chest/neckline or the sleeves, your address will not have enough support to stay up. You will have to have a seamstress create an entire internal support for the bodice which can change the look and feel of the dress and will be very expensive (not to mention, you will need to find a very skilled seamstress that knows how to do this). Your dress without the top is a very popular style right now- I would keep looking until you find one you like without having to do major alterations.

I would definitely speak to an experienced seamstress. If you remove the mesh, the sleeves no longer have a way of staying up- they are only staying up because of the mesh holding the top together. Removing the mesh will also mean the entire back of your dress will likely have to be reconfigured. It seems easy to just remove a little fabric from a dress, but if it’s what is supporting the dress and it’s structure, it is actually very difficult and requires a ton of additional work and costs. I would hate for you to purchase the dress and then not be able to do the alterations you want, or have them cost more than you’re prepared for, or to have a seamstress ruin your dress attempting to do the alterations.

Was your comment supposed to say NOT the entire mesh? If so, and you were just wanting to remove the lace detail at the neckline, that would probably be an easy fix!

I like the sleeves, so maybe just lower the neckline into more of a boat neck
