Wedding during covid

Lissett, on August 30, 2021 at 10:20 PM Posted in Planning 0 8
Hey my wedding will be in April 2022. Venue holds 100 anything more I have to get the extra room. We made a list of 114. How many people actually show up during covid ? And my wedding is near Easter but not everybody that invited us very religious or lives very far. Only about 14-20 of them are from out of state. Can someone help me and give me information on how many people came to their wedding during covid. And if I should rent the extra room. I already have a feeling 5-10 won’t show. How have you other brides gone about guest list during this crazy time .

I'm May 2022 so I understand the uncertainty, but there's no telling where COVID will be that far out. Things change every couple weeks, let alone several months. Just keep going with your planning the best you can. It's advised not to invite more than you can actually gold because you never know, everyone may show up or people might bring uninvited guests. So I would work on cutting your list down to 100.

I would stick with the venue maximum and go from there, I wouldn't invite over the venue capacity though. Maybe if people decline early enough then you could send invites to the remaining extra people

It's always a smart plan to not exceed your venue capacity with your guest list, COVID or no COVID. No one can predict how COVID will affect your guests and your region in April, but why bring all that preventable stress on yourself by inviting too many people for your venue?

We are having our reception on oct 2, 2021. Invited 107, 70 are coming. We planned for about 70 all along as my husband invited a bunch of people I was pretty sure wouldn’t be coming. We actually only had about 6-7 people decline due to covid—more people didn’t want to travel from Florida to Maine due to expense. I think you are fine to go without the extra room. When I sent out save the dates in January we had about 10 people tell us right away they couldn’t come (military service, pregnancies, etc) so you should know in advance if you can send out extra invites.

    Always plan for 100% attendance.

Edited to add, don't forget to include vendors in the head count.

I went through a similar experience. My partner and I got married in South Carolina, but we actually live in North Carolina. As it was close enough we had a chance to visit the location beforehand and make sure everything was in order. Luckily we also both have family in North Carolina so we didn’t find it necessary to get a wedding planner. We did however consult this page to make sure that we met all the essential requirements for getting married in another state: https://www.usbirthcertificates.com/articles/getting-married-in-another-state. Wishing you all the best with your wedding Smiley smile
