Wedding Envelopes - address by hand or printed?

Sara, on January 12, 2023 at 8:24 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

Hi!

I'm having a hard time finding somewhere to print the addresses on the envelopes for my wedding invites! I can only find minted. I'm surprised Zazzle or Vistaprint can't do this! Do most people write the addresses by hand? Has anyone worked with sticker labels instead? I'm open for any ideas! I really don't want to have to write them by hand! Why doesn't Zazzle offer this feature?

I think a lot of people use envelope templates and do it themselves. We did it this way and it really didn't take too long plus it saves a lot of money).

Basic invite and the American Wedding both offer this service. I used Basic Invite to print the envelopes for my save the dates and I used the American Wedding for my invitations. Basic Invite didn't have the style of invitations I wanted it I would have used them again.

You can absolutely run blank envelopes through your printer yourself. Just make sure you get extra envelopes in case you have issues figuring it out.

We used clear Avery address labels for all of our mailings (then we didn't have to worry if something printed funny). That also meant that we could use the same template every time we printed for mailing Smiley smile

I am old school, so take that into consideration Smiley laugh I think hand written is sooooo much nicer and more personal. I see a sticker and I immediately think "mass produced". Again, that is me so do what's best for you. I will be hand addressing all the invites (and there are 3 sets of them)

I ordered save the dates and invites from minted - I used their pre-printed address service for save the dates but for some reason the names were all too long for the invites (because I was doing "Mr. John Doe & Mrs. Jane Doe" and not "Mr. and Mrs. John Doe") so I ordered the invites blank and used clear labels that I printed myself. It was very easy and didn't take too much time to DIY!

Agree with this. We have received so many invitations that were smeared in the elements using labels or printed at home onto envelopes. Some couples said that guests of those weddings mentioned didn’t know they were invited because the smearing meant they didn’t get to their destination. We did handwriting and it was worth the extra labor. We had a small assembly party with local friends helping out and snacks.
