Wedding favor - Can Koozies??

Chelbi, on June 26, 2016 at 5:23 PM

I know it's popular to do can koozies for weddings, and I do love the idea! Most of mine and my FH friends enjoy a good time, so I know they'll be used for years to come. Wasn't sure if there as a website that's better than others to order customized can koozies? Thanks in advance!

I am from the south (alabama) and koozies are HUGE. We are drinkers and me and FH always collect koozies from diff bars and weddings we go to! We are also having koozies as our favors. Personalizing them is a MUST! That's the whole point of getting them in my opinion! Who wants a plain koozie... lol I LOVE the idea.

I looked at that website for koozie that was floating around on pinterest and once I factored in shipping and the set up fee I realized I would be better off creating my own design and doing them at home.

Not everyone has a cutting device (like a silhouette or cricut) and the heat press to adhere the vinyl (although I've heard using a regular iron can work, too)...so I would look into a small local business to see if you can get a more personalized touch.

If we do decide to make them, we are also not making the traditional wedding ones...we might put our name and date on the bottom (the very bottom no one sees), but the part people will really see will be more generic and have funny phrases or something not wedding related, so people might actually want to use them later.

I was also thinking of doing something edible for our favors instead, and also thinking I'd rather use that money to go towards something else, like a videographer, and might just skip favors all together Smiley smile

I think it depends on where you are. Here in Florida, most people I know have a drawer of them, keep them in their beach bags, and in random other places. You really can't drink outside without them. When they are given as favors they are usually kept and used.

When I lived in Massachusetts, if you saw them it was only during the summer months.

If I was doing favors, it would be koozies but I decided against any favors.

Why would you throw out a perfectly good coozie?

How the hell do you float in the summer without a coozie?

What is the point of a BBQ without them?

Why do you like warm drinks?

    I have so many questions.

I vote for the coozies, and this is the one time I don't mind a name/date on it at all. They're very scrapbooky for people who use them.

To each their own, but I wouldn't take one unless I was forced to, and it'd be thrown in the trash as soon as I got home.

We ordered 150 koozies for our guests (70) and were left with a dozen. On one side was a picture of the alamo, the other side 'saludos, ya'll' and on the bottom was our wedding date. No names, nothing wedding related - except for the reference to the city we were married in.

Koozies always seem like a great idea, because a lot of people use them. But when you start personalizing them with your name, date, etc...it makes them less appealing to your guests. I would maybe order just general ones with your wedding colors if you do decide to order them. I can;t fathom spending a lot of money on something that I think my guests would throw out that same night.

Koozies are actually the only wedding favor I've ever taken/kept! They've come in handy on numerous occasions.

So I was thinking about getting koozies too, and probably still will. But, the totallypromotional.com place that was mentioned has sturdy plastic cups for CHEAP. If you are doing a keg or something, you could go that route. I may do both. Some people may not use koozies but my house (and really, all of South Texas) is full of koozie snobs. Maybe all these people that don't use them just aren't from somewhere where you walk outside with a cold beer and you have 1.5 minutes to drink it if you want it cold....the struggle is real, people.

I personally love koozies. I swear FH and I probably have about 20 of them and no, they don't all get used all the time, but we use all of them at some point. And they're great to take to the lake with us because then everyone uses them.

I don't mind personalized koozies. You're literally putting a beer can in it. It serves its purpose regardless of the personalization lol.

I love koozies! We have several from our friends weddings over the years. I only keep 1-2 from each wedding though.

The best idea I've seen with koozies is printing them in the colors for your school/fave sports team. My FH and I are having two sets printed, one Purple & Gold for ECU and the other Carolina Blue and White for UNC. We attended a wedding last year that did the same thing and now we use the Carolina ones all the time.

I'd check out www.totallyweddingkoozies.com or www.totallykoozies.com. We are designing our own koozies and ordering them through www.totallykoozies.com for cheap!!
