Any ideas for wedding favors for a black tie wedding that does not involve alcohol?

I've noticed recently (in the past 7-ish years) that couples are ditching favors at black tie weddings and replacing them with guest experiences. For example, one wedding we went to had a cigar roller and another had a tequila sommelier. I think all the black tie affairs we've gone to have had live entertainers (one had fire dancers, which was really cool)! 360 photobooths are also always a crowd favorite. If you really want to give a tangible favor, you could do luxury candles (in an array of masculine and feminine scents). I received a Diptyque candle as a favor at a wedding, and loved it! Edible favors are also usually a crowd favorite. You could do a specialty chocolate. Vosges Chocolates has a really great selection.

Skip the favors and save your money. We’ve attended many weddings and have only seen favors at a couple and even then the parents couldn’t give them away. This includes candy/chocolate/cookies.

Favors are not necessary or even traditional with the exception of specific cultures. Wedding receptions themselves are the thanks to guests for attending. Apart from food, I can count on less than one hand the number of physical wedding favors we've gotten, including at black tie affairs. They were more popular for awhile, mostly IMO as an imitation of what you saw at kids birthday parties, sweet 16s etc. If you really want to do something, I'd go with something edible.

Thank you! This was helpful. I like the idea of skipping tangible items and adding some additional entertainment!
