Wedding favors double duty as place cards? or as centerpieces? How do i do signage?

Hi guys! New to this and realizing I'm not sure where to post this! I posted in planning but I guess maybe it should be here instead

For our wedding favors we're making little terrariums, one per couple/single guest/family. Since we're doing that specific to person, I am labelling each with the couple's name.

I want to double this to give people their table number (so the tag would have the couple's names and their table number)... but I can't figure out how to word a sign for it?

I was thinking something like "find your names, find your table" but I feel like that wont' look cute or whatever on the sign. any suggestions?

Also, do you guys think is this even a good idea? I was assuming that after the ceremony guests would mingle and have cocktail hour while we're doing photos, and the favor table will already be set up so they can find that before dinner (the area for dinner is closed to everyone while staff moves the chairs from the ceremony to the tables in the dinner area).

Secondly, in my searching I saw some people use them as centerpieces. Our centerpieces are very simple (three tall glass cylinder vases with river rock and submerged ferns with floating candles). Should I maybe put the favors on the tables? I just don't know!!!

My fiance is basically letting me do what I want so he's no help in making these decisions!

TIA!!!

Hi! I think it makes it easier just to have the favors on the table already, it adds to the decor and makes it easier for your guests. I too am using a place card to double as a favor (calligraphied agate slices) and am planning on doing either a salvaged window or a multiple photo frame to write in the table assignments.

You don't need a sign, people realize when they see something with escort cards, that it is the seating chart. I think the table with the terrariums and the cards set up during cocktail hour would be fine Smiley smile We did bottle openers that looks like skeleton keys for our favors and had them with our escort cards. No one was confused Smiley smile

I wouldn't have the favors on the table. I would keep your centerpieces that you have Smiley smile

Thanks for your responses everyone! To clarify 98% of our guests are in town— there are only 4 guest flying in and 2 of them are my aunts who will be staying after the wedding for a couple months with my parents. I’ve thought about edibles but I don’t know what we’d do, and though I’m not 100% gung ho have to do this, I really want to because it ties in our bouquets and boutineers and decorations (succulents, airplants, ferns... cake will be plain and have a big tillandsia xerographica on it)

also to clarify— these won’t be full blown terrariums with dirt and plants. It’s like a hanging glass bulb terrarium with wood chips (or something like that) or a pretty rock and an air plant. Or maybe just the air plant.

What you are talking about is having the favors do double duty as escort cards.

Have the table close to the entrance to the room so people notice it, and can pick them up on their way into the room.

People take them into the room and place them in front of their place setting, so they end up as part of your decor by default.
