Wedding Favors for Wedding Parties and Family?

Zoe, on January 14, 2021 at 8:30 PM Posted in Planning 0 6
So from what I've read most people find wedding favors to be a waste of money. I personally have wine glasses from my best friends wedding and shot glasses from a cousins wedding and I love them but I know not everyone does and I know both of them had a lot left behind. So I think I've definitely decided not to do favors for all the guests but has anyone does them for just the wedding parties and/or close family?

If you think they would like them then go for it. Usually parents and best friends are the only ones who keep favors anyway.

If you do that, do not present them at the reception, give them as gifts or after the wedding.

If you go this route, it's best to give them their gifts the morning of the wedding when you all are getting ready. We're also going to have welcome bags made for our guests that are traveling and staying in the hotel (all family).

We are doing favors, but we also know our crowd and know everyone will use it and not forget it. Personally, every wedding we've been to we've taken and kept the favor. The only one we didn't keep was a bundle of seeds that said "let love grow"...we live in an apartment so the favor was useless to us.

That’s why I’m doing tree saplings for my favors, literally no way to waste them, if they don’t all get taken then I’ll just take the extras and plant them myself Smiley smile

We ended up with a much smaller wedding than we had planned so we found a little room for favors. I found mini bottles of hand sanitizer for $1 a piece and then had custom labels made for like $2.50 a label. We had welcome bags for all the guests at their hotels so we placed those custom sanitizer's in the bags along with H2O and snacks. Our wedding party and parents had upgraded snacks, larger H2O bottles and they also received splits of wine or champagne. The non wine/champagne drinkers received mini's of a variety of spirits or a couple craft beers. Our guest's really enjoyed having "favors" this way versus at the reception as they got to enjoy them the whole time they were with us and it was things they could use/enjoyed indulging.
