Wedding Favors!

Meredith, on September 17, 2019 at 2:59 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 23

What are you giving as wedding favors? I realized something I thought was really funny the other day; wedding favors are like goodie bags for all age groups!

We're using shear maroon drawstring bags with chocolate coins, Hershey nuggets, & a ring pop in. We chose this as it's kind of like the money pouches people carried around in medieval times & our wedding is Renaissance & Fantasy themed!

I'm still on the fence about doing wedding favors , but edible ones are definitely the way to go!. If we do decide to do them, they'll be something sweet in little bags/boxes with a tag that says "A sweet ending to our new beginning" Smiley smile

I think that sounds good. We had a whole candy buffet table and honestly most of the candy was left surprisingly considering we had brand name candy

That's such a nice idea! That way, people can really use the favor rather than throwing it in a junk drawer to be thrown out later. Are you having an outdoor wedding where they might come in handy? That would be so neat!

We would love to, but if it's cold enough to need blankets, we will probably move it indoors.

That's cute! I thought of doing a little bag of mints with a tag saying 'Mint to be!' but Dave came up with his idea & we went with that.

We had a photobooth so guests could get the print-outs as favors. We also had a scented candle (customized label) at each place setting and a favors table with cakes for their dogs back home. The latter was how we included our dog, who wasn't present, and we placed a framed photo of him looking over the treats. 🤣

That sounds like an excellent idea! We have friends who got married a few years ago who did a popcorn buffet with different flavors of popcorn. I'm surprised there was candy left over for your wedding. With my family & his friends, there wouldn't be anything left!

For my wedding I am getting the keys that are bottle openers, and something edible. Like candy rocks

So it is outside? That's so sweet! I have a cousin who got married a year ago but they had to move everything inside at the last minute because it looked like rain. I hope you have a beautiful day & many happy memories!

We did two favors. The first one was a potpourri bag, it smelled like lavender and had our names & wedding date on the ribbon around the bag. My parents did this as their wedding favor, so that was why we also did it. Our second was a wine cork that had "Colorado" on it. Almost all our guests took both.

That's so cute! It was like he was saying 'From me to you, my pups!' (Instead of peeps) I have friends who did that too. It would be nice except cats (we each have a cat) aren't into sharing quite as much! LOL

I am mostly here to follow the thread to see what others say, I need to figure out what to do for wedding favors as well.

I am personally leaning towards food but I am interested to see what other ideas surface from this thread.

I like the idea of having 2 favors. That way, if they don't like 1, hopefully they'll like the other. I also like the idea of doing the same thing as your parents. What a nice tradition to have!

I would be happy to help you figure out what you want as your wedding favor. Do you have a theme or color theme? Is there something that you've done together that you can turn into an item? Like if you went to the beach together a lot; you could pick small sea scented candles. I'm kind of excited to help if you want!

    Meredith,

I am leaning towards either food or maybe a candle or something like that?

My biggest thing is that I don't want to make a big investment for people to just throw it away.

We are going to be getting married in a sunken garden so I want to stick to the romantic floral theme? Any ideas?
