Wedding Favors

Jay, on September 16, 2023 at 8:10 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
I’m getting married in Mexico. I’m looking for unique wedding favors I can give to my guest that won’t get flagged at customs. Thanks in advance for your help.

The best favors, aside from none at all, are either something guests can eat at the reception or a photo booth strip for memories.

I agree with Michelle that favors are unnecessary. However, these are kind of cute:

I just saw a tik tok that I wish I would've thought of for my own wedding.

Essentially, it said instead of favors of your names and date on it that no one will really use, see if you can hire a portrait photographer for your guests. Weddings are one of the only times people really get dressed up with their families/partners and getting a professional photo of themselves would be a great "favor" that they can reflect back on your day, but also display in their home.
Check with your photographer, though, as there may be a clause about other photographers. But if it's okay by them, you could have an area with some chairs/bench/flowers/etc where guests get their portraits taken.

This is essentially what a photo booth is. You can get the same service for less money by looking specifically at photo booths that offer printed strips.

Yeah, but when I think "photobooth", I think of a gray curtain with paper mustache props and quote bubbles that say "Team Bride!" which you get printed out on four 1.5 square inch pictures.

I'm talking digital portraits with a proper background without the silly props that you could actually display in your home

Tell the photo booth company that you want an elegant, not cheesy, backdrop and that you don’t want props included. A friend of ours had that exact setup at her wedding and it didn’t come across as cliche at all and guests talked about how elegant the photo strips were compared to what you normally see at other events.
