Wedding favors

Llcool_Kay, on April 29, 2021 at 10:49 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 20
I know some people say favors are pointless. But they were important to us lol What wedding favors are you doing for your big day? We are having personalized hand sanitizer bottles for each guest and having mini champagne flutes for their escort cards. They’ll be able to keep the flutes. We are also having a photo booth so hoping guest will take plenty of pics. They’ll be able to print the pics which could also serve as a favor. What are you doing?

We’re debating the favors thing. While I’ve never really seen any except those tiny organza bags of kisses, those get left behind oddly enough. If we do favors, we discussed cookbooks of favorite recipes (with vegan alternatives) and have them one per couple/single.

Wow cookbooks are a good idea. And yes we were back and forth too. Especially cause I’ve been to weddings where there were a ton of favors left behind or just thrown away.

I went to an anniversary party years ago that had a candy buffet and they couldn’t give it away at the end of the night. I’ve also seen where stuff to toss at the couple’s getaway (birdseed, fresh petals, bubbles) is considered favors.

My grandma makes cream cheese mints for every (and I do mean every) family event. But our venue doesn't allow outside food unless there is a catering license, so she can't just have trays of them on our dessert table. I asked if we put them in bags as a favor would that be okay and they said yes. I told my grandma and she got all excited. So a couple of days before the wedding I'm going to her house to make and package the mints in these cute little bags. We'll set one at each table. If they are left behind it won't make much difference since my FH is addicted to them.

I was set on gifting thrifted crystal goblets and small cacti but Idk anymore Smiley sad I recently went to a wedding that had succulent favors and a majority were left behind. Last thing I want is to worry about is hauling all that away at the end of the night. I am now thinking the photo booth pics will suffice as keepsakes.

    We are still tossing up.

I really, really wanted our place names to be cookies with the names in icing, but I think it might be too expensive/hard to source.

We also like the idea of personalized candy like this:

but not sure if people really eat candy and they'll get left behind.

our last option is little packets of our favourite local coffee - if that gets left behind, I'll definitely use it!

We've decided to do half drink coozies and half frosted cups since not all of our guests use drink coozies often. We also plan on having a table with bags of treats for our guests pet(s) with a thank you note from our dog!

We made hot sauce and put a small jar of it in a bag with some salt water taffy for a spicy and sweet treat! Most them of them taken, though there were a few left where people just took the taffy and left the hot sauce. But my husband and I love hot sauce so we didn't care if a bunch were left. If you do a favor and they're small, you're more likely to have people take them if you place one at each table setting (if you're able to do one per person).

We originally decided to get 1 drink for everyone as a favor, then I kept thinking I wanted people to have something from our wedding (as someone who keeps things from other weddings), but also wanted it to be usable so we went with koozies. I have several cups from friends' weddings too.

We're doing a beach theme so we found these cute coasters. They come wrapped in a package of 2 so we're doing one package per couple.

We are also having a photo booth, and considering the photo strips favors. We are going to have a huge dessert table with to-go boxes, and that will be a favor as well. Any left over desserts can be taken home, or given to our families (my nephew will definitely eat any left over candy 😂), so the food won’t go to waste.

We wanted to do mini liquor bottles with the Pinterest-y tag “we tied the knot; take a shot” but our venue won’t allow outside alcohol - even in this small amount- so we’re putting them in the hotel welcome bags.

Thank you! We can make them in any shape (she has tons of molds) so we plan on doing a mix of red and white (blending the two batters) to make Alice in Wonderland themed roses. Our wedding is a Disney theme so this ties in Alice in Wonderland. This way all of them will look like different stages of "Painting the Roses Red".
