Wedding Favors

Shelly, on October 16, 2020 at 1:46 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 22

What's everyone doing for wedding favors? I think it's neat when couples customize their favors to represent their relationship!

We're doing personalized drink koozies with our dog's picture on one side, and our wedding info on the other. We will also have a 'doggy bag' table with bags filled with dog treats for our guests to take home to their furbabies. Kind of a 'thank you' from our pup to theirs!

That's a really cute idea for a theme for favors!

My fiance and I are doing small jars of chocolate covered cherries as our favors.

Not having anything. Favors get left behind and tossed in the trash. Yes, even the edibles as was the case in the last several that I attended.

We selected edible favors for this reason. Any that are left behind or not taken by guests, my fiance and I are more than happy to consume ourselves, since we both love chocolate covered cherries lol. I do agree though, I also see favors left behind frequently at weddings. I think favors should either be something edible, or something you don't mind having a lot leftover afterwards (such as, matches or pens or something that can be useful after the wedding), or skipped altogether.

We've been to weddings where they ordered WAY too many koozies and had large amounts leftover. We plan on ordering once our guest list is final, and only going over maybe 15 koozies. As far as the dog treats, whatever doesn't get taken, comes home to our pup, so I don't think he would mind a few leftovers!

Because of COVID, we did small personal bottles of hand sanitizer with a custom label I ordered from etsy. I was left with just a few, but mostly everyone took theirs home. Could always use some hand sanitizer nowadays haha.

I'm sure your dog will be hoping for lots of leftovers on the dog treats, lol!! I think koozies are useful too, my sister did those for her wedding. My fiance and I ended up taking a handful of the extras back with us, and even to this day, we use them all the time (her wedding was a few years ago).

I'm sure he will!! We have a large clear container with koozies we've collected and they all get used. We have friends over a lot, so a koozie is always needed!

We did gourmet butter mints. I would recommend doing something edible! I've been to over 50 weddings, and I don't think I've ever kept or had a desire to keep a wedding favor that wasn't edible before. Actually one time I did take a succulent but I had to throw it out at the airport. That being said, I think that hand sanitizer would make an excellent non-edible favor right now! If you're ordering koozies, I would recommend ordering less koozies than guests, so you don't end up with a bazillion extras

We skipped favors entirely. Favors in our area tend to be either edible, alcohol oriented, or skipped.

For our minimony this year, we are giving goodiebags with hand sanitizer, wipes and personalized mask.

Then next years we will be giving apple cider donuts.

We were going to do some sort of edible favor, but seeing as too many of our guests have differing allergies, special dietary needs, and are on different diets, we opted for something they can use often. We're not going to order koozies until after we have a final headcount.

We are doing that as well! We figured they can reuse the bottle afterwards (label is removable) or keep it as a memento.

We postponed from November 2020 to November 2021 and we plan to do something edible, but I love this! As a guest, hand sanitizer is probably the only non-edible favor that I would use, and certainly the only non-edible favor that I'd be excited to take with me.

I absolutely LOVE the idea of including your dogs' pictures in the favors. Never thought of that! I was thinking something more simple like a personalized candle with the wedding date and our names.

We both have a LOT of books and as much as it pains me, we need to purge.
So...we are picking out a book for each person, wrapping it in white butcher paper, and writing a message to them on the wrapping. Maybe tie with ribbon.
It will take a while, but we’ve got till Oct 2022.
