Wedding favors

Sarah, on October 19, 2019 at 2:04 PM Posted in Planning 0 19
So I am completely lost when it comes to figuring out wedding favors. My theme is Beauty and the Beast, I want something cute and affordable, also with the wedding date on it. If anyone would care to share what they did for their favors or if you have any ideas, I would love to hear them.

I will say edible favors are always the biggest hit.

Edible favors or skip it. Most people don’t want something with someone else’s wedding date on it and if they can’t eat it then it will most likely end up in the trash.

It’s totally ok to skip. Not necessary anymore.

But if you want to a chocolate in a red rose wrapper would be on point and yummy.

I have included a couple of ideas. I hope these help! My brother and his wife did Beauty and Beast as their theme, but they used keys as favors as a play off his wife's name which is Kealey.

I agree. If it's edible, you're more likely to get rid of most if not all of them and not have to worry about them being left behind or thrown away.

You can check to see if etsy would be of any help in what you're looking for! Etsy is pretty popular for quite a lot as well.

We have Mickey head key bottle openers. Attaching a tag to it that saying “thanks for being our guest! With our names and date”

We are doing wedding box with jordan almonds, chocolate from USA and Philippines and a lifesaver. We figured like you said most people will leave item or throw it out at home to be graceful but you cant go wrong with eatable things even if wrapped in twill.

We are recreating these with different colors (you could do red candy). I found cylinder glass jars 60 for $17. After candy and thank you stickers (you could do a rose sticker) we are paying $40 for 60 favors.

If it’s a knickknack that’s personalized with your information... skip it and save your money. Instead, go with something that’s useful or can be consumed. We’ve decided to do these same blue mini champagne bottles (The tag attached will have the guests’ name/ table number and double as an escort card).

Books! You can get tons of used books in good shape at your local library’s annual book sale for literally 25 cents, or at thrift stores. My cousin gave out books at her wedding and everyone went crazy. She and her fiancé made their own bookmarks to go with them and they were so cute, and were nothing more than cardstock and inexpensive ribbon.

I am definitely thinking chocolate roses with a note attached saying thank you for being our guest. Since I do have kids coming to the wedding we are going to go more expensive with the kids party favors. They are going to get a sand pail and we are going to fill it with dollar store toys, books, glow sticks, etc. That way they have something they can do during the reception if they get bored.

The book idea is super cute, after I have a complete head count, I might do like dollar store books.

I don’t get the book idea. Are you suggesting getting random books for everyone or purchasing enough copies for everyone of Beauty and the Beast?
If you were able to get copies of Beauty and the Beast for everyone that would be cute but it sounds very expensive for something not everyone is going to want. Even more so with random books. I would not even know what to think if I was just given a random book as a favor. A book that someone else gives you (that you didn’t ask for) is almost always just added clutter to the house. My fiancé and i would not save two random books from a wedding if they had no meaning to us.
If you really want to do favors, I would do something edible. I’ve got shot glasses, wine glasses, koozies etc etc. from weddings somewhere 🤷🏼‍♀️ I honestly couldn’t even tell you where my brothers wedding souvenir wine glasses are and he’s incredibly important to me. And those are everyday items. A book is not.
Save your money in my opinion.

They chose their favorite books and had them out on a table for people to choose. No one had to take a book. Ties in nicely with the theme.

That sounds super cute! Definitely not for everyone but if it fit them, then I think that’s great!
