Wedding flower diy

Taylor, on March 24, 2021 at 6:18 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 15

Hey guys! Sooo long story short, I am just over a month out to my wedding (May 7) and my florist just doubled her price. I am now thinking I want to do artificial flowers to help save money (and to help with the time crunch). Any suggestions? Are there kits that I can do so that I don't have to buy each individual stem? I really love ranunculus, so hoping I can find some! Thank you everyone!

Fiftyflowers.com has very inexpensive fresh flowers way cheaper than silks and they have instructions on their site how to assemble bouquets, etc. . Costco.com and grocery store florists will work with you last minute.

    I'm considering Something Borrowed Blooms:

    here's their link: https://www.somethingborrowedblooms.com/?gclid=CjwKCAjwxuuCBhATEiwAIIIz0ct52CdCPvn_7AhN-Rau4IrV480hcdYgZFhRGgL9cbqYmDAhbcyT9xoCAX8QAvD_BwE

They have beautiful arrangements that you can rent or buy and they look just like real flowers while saving you lots!

The PPs offered some good suggestions, but what do you mean your florist doubled her price? Assuming that you had a contract, your florist is legally required to stick to the prices specified in your contract.

Seconding what Hanna said - if you have a signed contract with your florist, then the price they quoted shouldn’t drastically change!
I actually hired my florist to just do personal flowers and am ordering the rest from fiftyflowers.com to arrange in bud vases myself - including ranunculuses! I’ve heard they’re very fragile, though, if you go the l DIY route with fresh flowers.

Flower moxie is another cheaper option with fresh flowers you do yourself. They send you recipe cards and have videos on how to do everything.

Check out Ling's Moment. They're foam and silk flowers and I gotta say I'm pretty impressed with how they look! I've ordered a few to add to a swag I'm making. I've seen that they sell fits for everything you need to make bouquets, or even sell the bouquets themselves already put together.

Try and find your local florist supply store. not an actual florist, but the company that supplies them. If you can magian to get yourself and account, you can buy the same flowers your florist would have used at pennies on the dollar! My FH has a business, and so I was able to use his Tax ID number to make an account at our local supply warehouse and will be DIYing everything but my bouquet.

4th this. Vendors can't just suddenly change their prices after you've locked in your contract. Refer to your contract, and you can easily sue this florist in small claims court

We're doing fake flowers for everything but my bouquet so I'm not stressing right before the wedding and I can do them early without fear of wilting. The last thing you want is to be up until 3am the night before your wedding trying to arrange your flowers. The Dollar Tree has the best fake flowers for cheap. 5-6 blooms + greenery for $1 and the flowers can pop off the top of each stem to rearrange without trying to twist the stems together. Invite your bridesmaids or the mothers over a weekend before and DIY together with a bottle of wine

5th. Yeah no, she can’t just change prices if you signed a contract. Look it over or see if you can get your deposit back.
