Anyone else finding that flowers really break the budget? I just got the estimate from our florist, and as much as I love everything we discussed and planned, it is just way out of my budget. My wedding coordinator and I had a chat and got creative and we are going to be doing feather bouquets for the bridesmaids and feather boutonnieres for the groomsmen.

Anyone have any further ideas of how to keep the costs down or things that you did/are doing that you loved? Thank you!

I’m going this Friday- I’m just looking for something simple & elegant, nothing big, for my bridesmaids to carry. Fingers crossed!

The florists in my area are quite expensive, a simple over the arm bouquet was $55 😲
    Fingers crossed for you!

That's such a cute idea to feather bouquets! Have you heard of wooden flowers? I am looking into them and they look real! You can dye then any color you want too!

We bought vases at Michael's, bought a lot of baby's breath online and filled in with supermarket roses and greenery. I can't remember exactly how much it was, but I do know that it was no more than $300 for 10 tables. I did spring for the bridal and maid of honor bouquet, though, and that added about $150 to our floral bill.

My bouquet alone is $280... So we are just nixing flowers for the rest of the bridal party. I love my bouquet choice, so there is no way I am changing that. I bought a dozen vases at the Dollar Store and we are just going to add feathers to them instead of flowers, but it is nice that supermarkets have good prices for flowers.

I’ve looked everywhere for reasonably priced flowers, like literally every where I could think of, and it seems like the best option for my wedding is to go with fake flowers. Luckily our venue is rustic looking and we can keep decor pretty minimal so there’s no need for a bunch of flowers there. My maid of honor and I will be putting the bridesmaids and mine bouquets together. Wish us luck! LOL! If anyone has any ideas please send them my way! 😊

I ordered flowers from lingsmoment for $137 which I will use to decorate the simple centerpieces provided by our venue and the gazebo where we will say our "I do's". Any extra we will use for literally anything else (sweetheart table, other decorations here and there) My planner has a lot of decor already so I will use her greenery, votives, charger plates (anything she's got!) for a lot of things too and just add my pink flowers to it.

But I am still getting a florist...comparing prices this week. The first quote I got was $1500...trying to find one who will do it for $1000. Includes my bouquet of peonies, corsages for bridesmaids, moms and grandmother (not doing bouquets for bridesmaids since they will not be standing next to me), 5 boutonnieres for the groom, dads and my brothers, rose petals down the aisle, a toss bouquet and baby's breath for the aisle seats.

...am just now thinking maybe I should DIY my braidsmaid corsages....I think I could do it. I wouldn't be saving myself all that much though honestly, but it does all add up. Will give it some more thought.
