Wedding games during rehearsal dinner?

Shelby H., on October 14, 2014 at 4:10 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 8

I am not giving up on his family *cough cough* sister liking me. I was thinking, a way to get the families talking and mingling nicely and not standing off into corners muttering under their breath, I was thinking about playing the shoe game, Spouse trivia, etc etc.

They will mingle and they will like each other!!

Anyone else have any ideas for good wedding games that would transfer well to the rehearsal dinner?

(Also, sorry for the multiple threads. It was storming this morning and it made most of the people work from home. I'm one of 10 in the whole office.)

We did a wedding mad libs on our rehearsal dinner cruise. It was fun.

(I was going to upload an image of this, but that feature still isn't working.)

I was thinking of the madlib, but it would probably give his sister too much leeway to take a stab at me and my mother is the Original Queen B. She's sink her teeth into FSIL if she even looked like she was going to say something sideways.

Granted, that's assuming she'd even come.

I love the shoe game. It's cute and gets everyone to giggle and lighten up.

Good food and drinks are plenty. Forced group participation is entirely unnecessary and seems like it would add to your stress.

I really felt like our rehearsal dinner was the only time we had to just relax and enjoy. It was one of my favorite parts of the wedding.

However if your families don't get along you might not have the same experience! I would just recommend things that don't make people get out of their chairs, like the trivia or mad libs ideas.

Games at these types of formal events feel really forced and juvenile. Adults can entertain themselves. Don't worry over it.

That's the thing, Snarky. My rehearsal dinner ISN'T formal. It's at my house and my FH is doing the cooking finger foods, we're getting a mini keg, and we're just mingling and talking.
