Wedding gifts not needed.

Cameron, on December 9, 2022 at 3:14 PM Posted in Planning 0 3
My soon to be husband and I have not yet purchased our together home and we own our own homes that are fully established. So really we don't currently have anything we can think of to put on a registry but gift cards for future purchases would be greatly appreciated. How do we words this on an invite or our wedding page?

It may work out to have a honeymoon fund. Many people would feel uncomfortable not having a gift of some sort -- another portion of the guests might be relieved. Others may have a good idea how to share your preference with the guests. And anyhow the presents really seem geared to young couples just getting a start on life. But there are some gifts to have as unique representations of your marriage.

You can do amazon registry and put gift cards on there. I wouldn't put anything on the invite, just the site. Could make a light hearted joke about having to combine 2 households and having to get rid of stuff rather than need new stuff.

Yes, don’t refer to gifts at all on the invitation, it’s against etiquette. I would refrain for asking for money at all. Just as fyi, honeyfund takes a percentage of the gift, and leads guests to believe they are buying an experience for you when that is not the case.
