Wedding Gifts

DrAlondra, on September 6, 2019 at 9:50 PM Posted in Registry 0 13
I am getting married for the first time in April. My fiancee and I are well established so we are not going to register. We already have people asking are registered. Besides having them donate to one of favorite charities, what else could we do?

You could just tell them you're not registered and I'm sure you'll get cash gifts.

Most people don't bring actual gifts to the ceremony. I've seen a few gifts at the weddings i've gone too. Most brings cards with cash or checks. I'd say have a card box

Why not set up a registry where they can donate money to you? We set up with blueprint registry and selected options for them to put money toward things like our Caribbean honeymoon, a kayaking trip, scuba diving.... That way they feel like they've given you a treat.

You're welcome. This registry allows you to create your own couple website as well. The nice thing is that you can make particularly large gifts a group contribution. Each contributer can send you a message with his gift to personalize. Also, I've read it is rude to put registry info on an invitation. What I did instead was list my wedding website and they can find registry info on there if they wish.

My FH and I have been together for 7 years and I could not decide on anything to put on a registry because we don’t need anything. I didn’t want a bunch of useless gifts. I just didn’t mention anything on our invites and when people ask about a registry I just let them know that we are established and already have a full home 🤷🏼‍♀️ We will have a card box out at the wedding because that’s what I assume most people will bring!

I registered FH and I with Zola. It has a ton of different options, from gifts to cash funds to gift cards. Definitely check it out!

Registry info should never go on your invites. You can just let people know by word of mouth or put it on your wedding website if you have one.

You can register for your honeymoon, Amazon has where you can register for airline gift cards, honeymoon experiences, even Lowe’s/Home Depot gift cards, etc.

my my fiancé and I mostly registered for the 20% discount that comes after.

We didn’t register either and we told everyone we didn’t want anything and people gave cash or gift cards.
