Hello! I am having my wedding in Bomporto, Italy. So it will be a destination wedding and I am wondering when I should ask people who haven't RSVP'd yet if they are coming. The wedding is May 29, 2023.

It's way to early to expect anyone to RSVP. Invitations shouldn't have even gone out yet.

Hi Veronica! Thanks for your input. We have only sent out save the dates, no invitations yet. When do you think invitations should be sent out?

Typical guests don't reply to save the dates and even if they did they should still receive an invitation as a follow up. I would send your invitations between 10-12 weeks prior to the wedding and have the deadline be about 2 weeks prior to when you need to give your venue/caterer a final guest count as that will give you time to reach out to anyone that might have failed to RSVP.

I agree with Veronica. You don't expect an RSVP with STD's at all. People may not even know what their situation will be re: finances, time off and Covid travel etc. Formal invitations should be sent to everyone on the STD list, at about 8 weeks prior.

    Italy sounds amazing!
