Wedding Guys Bridal Show!

Clarissa, on September 13, 2019 at 5:53 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 2

Hey Everybody,

So me and one of my bridesmaids are going to the wedding guys bridal show and I was just wondering what we should expect since we have never been to one before. For instance, is there food there that we can snack on or should we plan to eat lunch before we go there? Should I bring anything with me to the event? Any answers help!

Most bridal shows have either catering companies, or bakeries, who often have little samples. But it's not enough to feed everyone, so I would definitely recommend you eat before you go. I've gone to three of these events now, and they are all pretty much the same. Lots of booths with wedding vendors for you to talk to, get brochures, look at samples of their work, etc.

Pretty much every kind of vendor you can imagine attends these: photographers, caterers, venue representatives, bride/groom attire (David's bridal/Men's Warehouse), bakers, DJs, travel companies (for honeymoon packages), transportation, hair and makeup, liquor and wines, etc.

I've even seen vendors at bridal shows that are for health and wellness, and one of them had a company that specialized in spa treatments. It's a pretty cool thing if you've never been to one. It's especially helpful if you're early in your engagement, and don't have any vendors picked out yet. You can see a lot of different styles, and prices. Don't be afraid to ask questions, and get everyone's business card for future reference.

Also, there's almost always some kind of fashion show, where you get to see different styles of attire. There is also usually at least one raffle going on, where you can win some small prizes, as well as big ones. The last show I went to, they gave away a $10,000 wedding package to one lucky couple. It was a random drawing too! Everyone was issued two raffle tickets when they entered, and they picked the winners from those tickets at the end of the show. Sometimes there will be a company there giving away 3-day trips to Las Vegas.

So, have fun, and good luck!!

Wear comfortable shoes and bring all the patience you can round up. They’re often super packed and vendors are really pushy. They’ll probably give you something indicating that you’re the bride; a pin, sash, ribbon, whatever. If you don’t want to be attacked, don’t wear it. Most caterers and bakers will bring samples, but you’re not going to get a free meal out of it. I would eat before. If you haven’t already, establish an email address just for wedding related things. You’re going to get 93849 emails a week from every single vendor there. Many people recommend printing labels with your info (name, wedding date, email) to just stick on the forms the vendors hand out instead of writing it all down a million times. Look at the list of vendors before attending and try to see if there’s anyone you’re super interested in. Many vendors give out discounts to clients who book at expos, so if you know you’re interested, you could put down a deposit at the event.
