Wedding hair!

Ashley, on June 7, 2021 at 12:00 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 9
Hey ladies! So I talked about how I lost a close bridesmaid & she was supposed to do my hair I had to find someone else and she wasn’t able to do it. I am a cosmetologist and I feel comfortable doing my hair if I have practice in what I’m doing I found a easy tutorial with it as well! It’s just a texturized updo with a few curls out.☺️
What is your advice on brides doing their own hair?
Or something you wish you could have done/prevent?

One of the reasons why I wouldn’t do my own hair is because it’s just one less thing for me to worry about I’d prefer to just relax, get pampered and be available to handle any issues (God Forbid) as they arise.

I’m doing my own makeup for similar reasons. I think it’s perfectly fine, just make sure you allow enough time that you won’t be stressed.

I would say even if you know what you're doing, don't do it yourself!!! Your wedding day is a day to get pampered and relax. Having to do your own hair might add unnecessary stress. It's fun to sit around with your girls, get your hair done, drink mimosas and just relax.

I am doing my own hair (sort of). I was planning to do it completely myself, but now a friend is helping me, which will be good because I often miss straggly pieces if I'm trying to do an updo on myself and can't see exactly what I'm doing. So I'll be curling my own hair ahead of time and she'll be helping me pin up my hairstyle and secure my updo.

I originally had a HMUA booked but kinda got screwed over for my Covid elopement by the salon so opted not to use them this time around. I figured I can disappoint myself for free, and the stress of dealing with them and spending a lot of money to not even know if I'll like my hair doesn't seem worth it.

I do wish I was a little more confident in doing my own hair, but it is what it is at this point, and I'm fine with where I am at. I see no reason why a bride shouldn't do her own hair if she feels confident in doing so!

I would recommend knowing where you will get ready and having a second mirror (so you can see behind you)!

I don't think there's anything wrong with doing your own hair, especially since you are a cosmetologist. However, I probably wouldn't recommend it because, when it's your wedding day, your head is going to be up in the clouds, and you're gonna be thinking of a million different things, your phone will go off nonstop, and you're gonna be having people go up to you constantly, asking you questions, etc. I'm just saying that you probably won't be able to put as much attention to your hair as you want to, since people will always try to drive your attention away. During my wedding, I didn't have anytime to do anything for myself, because the moment I woke up, I had vendors, guests, family, friends, and more calling me constantly.
