Wedding Hangers

Katherine, on March 16, 2015 at 4:11 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 63

How many of you have a special hanger for your wedding dress? My photographer recommended I get a nice hanger for my wedding dress for when she takes photos. But that got me thinking, should I go the personalized route or just buy any "nice" hanger?

Oh! I'm going to follow this post because I was trying to decide the same thing! I've seen some cute personalized hangers on etsy. Although my new last name is going to be 10 letters long... so I don't know how that'd look on a personalized "Mrs. X" hanger lol. And "Bride" seems like something you could only use once...

    Great question!

I'm still trying to decide on this as well. I can get them locally made for $20 a piece and I only have 2 BMs, but no decision yet. I'm interested to see what others say.

I'm probably "borrowing" one of the hangers from the hotel my mom is staying at. This is such a small detail I personally couldn't care less.

I haven't ordered one yet, but I think I'm going to get one of the "Mrs. X" ones from Etsy.

If I did get one personalized I don't know if I would have it say Mrs. (Last name). Everyone I asked thought that was jumping the gun and weird And ya, bride is only a one time use thing. I was thinking maybe the wedding date? Or "I Do", even though that my be the same concept as bride.

M, that's how I felt too. I am still considering borrowing or buying, who knows.

I was going to, but not wasting my money on that. I will DIY my hangers.

If you are doing "that photo" of the dress...do think about the hanger. Ugly wire hangers can ruin it.

Personally I wouldn't spend money on a hanger nor would I attempt to make one (some on here do and they are adorable) but I also didn't want the "dress on hanger" photo and some of the other photos brides want and do.

It cost about $30 for 4 hangers. 1: Mrs. Gerardo 2: Bridesmaid 1: Flowergirl

It wasn't that big of a cost to have something special.

I bought a five pack of wooden hangers that I'll be spraying with gold glitter. I didn't want anything personalized that I'd never use again anyways.

I'm going to diy my hangers because it will cost too much money to have someone else do them for me. Can you buy nice hangers at any department store and then get vinyl letters from a craft store.

I didn't want to pay for a hanger to be personalized so I made them myself.

This is probably a silly question, Alyshadanielle and FutureMrsSloan, does the glitter rub off or stay on your hands after you touch it? I wouldn't want the glitter to attach itself to me and my dress.

Oh god! Glitter!!!! I'm not using glitter in the wedding except for my shoes, but I'm obsessed with glitter!

Did you use wood hanger and glitter spray paint?

Girls with the glitter hangers, did you use glitter spray paint or glue and loose glitter?
