Elizabeth, on August 2, 2017 at 3:48 PM Posted in Planning 1 23

My fiances last name is Stakofsky lol so very polish. Not the easiest to make a hashtag for. My name is Liz and his is Matthew. Any ideas?

You don't need a hashtag, it's not necessary.

ETA: Apparently that comment seems rude. I just meant you don't have to if you don't want to!

^ technically nothing is necessary when it comes to a wedding except two people who love each other and a witness.

If she wants a hashtag she can have one. Comments like these are so rude.

If you're having a bridal shower, make a game out of coming up with a hashtag, you'll probably get some great responses from people who know you best. That being said:

You could just avoid the last name...

    #LizandMatthewTietheKnot or something like that.

Or take a part of it and play with it, like something with "sky" (I'm assuming it's pronounced "ski" but playing off of the letters) I

Hashtag threads rarely go over well here, just as a heads up. I would make a game of thinking of a hashtag at your shower as mrsmack said.

Wow @Ashley! I was not being rude! I was just pointing out that it's not always needed. If it's difficult then don't stress about it? My name is difficult too and I realized after looking at 100 different generators that I could just skip it.

    Stakoflove would be cute too!

@spaghetti your comment just seemed rude to me, I'm sorry. She was asking for help and you said a hashtag wasn't necessary. My point was a lot of things aren't necessary, but many brides do them anyways because they want to.

Coming from someone who also acquired a long, Polish name - I'd strongly advise against using it in your hashtag since it's so hard to spell, especially after drinking!

We used our initials, Ski, and our wedding date (yours in the pattern of ours would be LMSky2018). Puns are awesome and adorable if you have a last name that works, but it was more important to me to be useful!

Sorry guys, not trying to cause any issues. I know I don't need a hashtag I just think its a fun thing to have. Maybe something with Matt and Liz. I was hoping for a cute pun. My friend has a friend whose last name is wigglesworth and they came up with a hashtag "GetWiggyWithIt" which is adorable

#StorkForStakofsky for a baby shower. Thinking ahead. For the record I'm obsessed with Instagram and will definitely have a hashtag haha.

I'm not creative at all so I can't help, but if having a fun hashtag is something you really want (it was for me) I would recommend spending the 20 bucks and hiring the professional writers at Wedding Hashers. They sent me 5 that we weren't thrilled with, so they sent 6 more. We ended up with #ShafferKEGParty. His last name is Shaffer, my initials are KEG and we take drinking very seriously so it was perfect. I may or may not have spent the money on their service while slightly intoxicated, but it was a great 20 bucks spent.
