Wedding Hashtag with One Last Name - Step Kids/kids

Christine, on November 6, 2019 at 10:51 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 7

I have one son and my fiance has three kids. I like the idea of the hashtag #ProutyPartyofSix and using it for our wedding URL, but my son's last name is not Prouty. Is it bad to use this as a hashtag/wesbite? Does it leave out my son in some way? There will be six of us, so he's included in that way. But wasn't sure if it'd be weird that his last name wasn't Prouty. Looking for opinions on this! Maybe I am over thinking it!

How old is your son? Unless he's relatively young, I would just ask him if he'd feel left out. If he's young, I don't think he'd care either way. As long as it doesn't bother you or FH, I don't think anyone would see an issue with it Smiley smile

He'll be six a week after we get married.

I don’t think your 6 year old will care about your hashtag.

I'd imagine a 6 year old might not even be aware that you have a hashtag lol. Like I said, unless it bothers you or FH, go for it!

I don't think my son would care! I'm more worried about if it will look like to our guests that I've excluded him.

My son is ecstatic that I’m marrying someone with the same last initial as him. He’s almost 12, and cares more that everyone’s last name will start with an “F” than being different. But I’m also certain he wouldn’t be bothered if it wasn’t the same. Bottom line, kids don’t care about last names nearly as much as us adults do.

I think #ProutyOfSix makes sense here.
