Wedding Hashtags?

DisneyPrincess, on September 1, 2017 at 9:43 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 27

What do y'all think of wedding hashtags? I cannot think of one for our names, and I feel like I have seen EVERYONE using them. Do y'all have one?

    I didn't have one. It just felt silly to me, I don't know.

    When WW gave me #voginawedding (a mix between my last name and FH's), it tainted me lol so we are going without. I'm not clever to come up with anything and from what I've seen from friend's weddings they weren't used often.

    I'm not doing one. I don't like using hashtags and honestly it's not really that 'cool' or 'trendy' to use them, in my opinion. If anyone post pictures from the wedding, I can just see it on their accounts. Ideally you would know all of your guests and be close enough to have them on social media anyway.

    I have been to 6 weddings this year, and 3 I was invited to and didn't go, and they ALL had one. Are they just a fun Instagram thing? I had never heard of it until the past few years

    OP I don't use instagram or most other social media but some of our guest do. We came up with one just being goofy. My FH's nickname is Sponge so just being silly I said #SpongeUpTheLove. Do either of you have nicknames or anything that you could play off of?

    @Nicole A, you're really good at this!!

    @Shauna D, Were very active on social media, even our parents are lol so I thought it would be nice to have one. We both love Disney World and Disney movies, so we're kinda known for that

    We came up with ours years ago so we're using it. I went to 3 weddings this summer. All three had hashtags and all were used a lot! It's free and fun. Depends on your crowd. Our wedding and these three had a pretty young crowd. Most people are in the 25-35 age range

    I can go with or without it. But I wouldn't mind seeing all the photos taken by both mine and FH's family! I'm not friends with all of his extended family on FB/IG so to see them under one hashtag would be much easier! On the other hand FH has a difficult last name so not sure if we will find anything

    We would love to use one but haven't come up with anything creative so far. My new last name will be Stapleton. Anyone have any good ideas?

    We had one and I loved it! Ours was #MarryAMountaineer because we both went to WVU.

    We are doing one but I don't expect others to join in on the fun with us. I've been using our hashtag for our engagement announcement, and any other wedding related moments, like going dress shopping with my mom. My MOH used it when I asked her to be my MOW but now that I think of it I haven't used it much. I'm sure I'll use it closer to our date and what not Smiley smile

    Also we aren't advertising it at the wedding I don't think. We may put our hashtag on the photo booth pictures but we'll see. We plan on using it after the wedding too.

    Had one. Didn't use it, and neither did our guests.

    It's pretty pointless; our guests just tagged us in photos on social media.
