Wedding Ideas for Under 10 Guests?

Chelsea, on April 2, 2020 at 10:29 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 5

Hello - we plan to do a small ceremony in case the coronavirus makes us postpone our original 250 wedding reception. Any ideas for still celebrating with 10 or less people? Trying to think outside the box!

Since restaurants are not open right now, i would maybe have a dinner party at someone's house? if restaurants were open, then having a nice private dinner would be cool.

Do you still want it to feel like a "normal" wedding?
If you do, depending on where you live, you might be able to find a nice outdoor space to do the ceremony, like in a park or on the dock at a lake/beach. You could do a little champagne toast there, in place of a cocktail hour, then have restaurant food delivered to someone's home (preferably not yours, so you don't have to clean up afterward) for the reception.

If you want to be married but you don't want it to feel like a wedding because you're having one later, try to think of an activity that you and your fiancè like to do together (that doesn't require staffing), invite 8 people to do it with you, and incorporate your wedding into that.

    Hi Chelsea,

The ideas above are fun! Are you leaning towards a smaller wedding-like celebration or more of a small group activity?

Even something like a bike ride or a hike could be neat if that's something that you normally enjoy. Of course, if guests aren't local, they may not have bikes (but you could rent them if shops are open). Depending on age, physical activity level and general health, everyone may not be able to participate in such a vigorous activity. But still, I'm sure you catch my drift. Smiley smile As long as the celebration feels like YOU and your SO, your guests should be happy to participate.

    Good luck! Smiley heart
