Whether new to you on the forum or on Pinterest, what have you come across that is nothing like what you have come across from weddings you have attended yourself?

It was at an after party the couple rented out the penthouse suites and had private chefs making food. Other than that I feel like I’ve seen it all but I’m sure someone will find something to surprise me!

Pintrest is filled with style shoots, where a group of wedding vendors come together to create a wedding like scene or photoshoot. Because this is mainly for photos and the hope of being published in magazines, the vendors have full creativity and don’t have to worry about the brides being happy or staying within a budget. The florists, the venue, the wedding planner are able to pull out all of the stops. They know the more creative it is and the more Pinterest-y it is, the bigger chance they have for it to get picked up by wedding magazines or going viral on Pinterest and the bigger chance they have for getting new clients.

Every vendor is able to go crazy with creativity. This was so interesting to be a part of because when I started truly thinking about it, yes it’s inspiring for brides and gives them tangible inspiration, but it also gives brides an unrealistic view on how weddings should be. Most of these viral pins of weddings aren’t real weddings at all, which definitely puts things into perspective.

I would say I never heard of BOHO brides ha ha and I did not know wedding brunches were a thing either.

There is a girl on here who is having this cool touchscreen mirror thing. I wish I could remember what she called it! It takes pictures and does a bunch of other stuff too. Hadn’t ever seen or heard of that option before. Hopefully she’ll comment on here what it is

I think it’s call a magic mirror photo booth. I’ve heard of them but didn’t know what they did.
    I’ve never seen one

Brides from the 60s and 70s might disagree on the boho. But if tuxes and butlered champagne is all anyone has ever seen then that makes sense. Never heard of wedding brunches either as not everyone is ready to celebrate that early.

Maybe but I am an 80's and 90's child/teen so it is new to me and I have not heard of it in the past 15 years lol. Maybe it is a trend coming in fashion. Oh I meant day after wedding brunches. Even having traveled for two weddings brunch was never offered.

Day after brunches? Ive heard of them in magazines only. Most real life people don't have that extra money to spend plus they're likely tired out from the night before

In my circle, we have swordfights at weddings.

Which is really a super throwback to the Middle Ages, but everyone consents this time around.

My FSIL is having a day-after brunch, and I think we may throw something together as well.

Never seen a photobooth at a 'real' wedding.

Really intricate tablescapes with tons of extras

I've never really seen games that involve the bride and groom, like the shoe game etc.

Never been to a wedding with an insane amount of florals like you see in magazines - but maybe that's just me!

I've never seen any of those. Typically guests would rather chat and catch up than play games if there is no dancing. But it must be a know your crowd thing.

I went to a wedding that didnt like cake so they did a desert bar and had cheese wheels to cut into?

I thought the cake was melting at first but then realized it was different types of cheese wheels lol.
