Wedding in a little more than a month!!!

Jordan, on June 2, 2021 at 10:23 PM Posted in Planning 0 14
My fiends are getting married July 31st 2021 and we just decided 2 weeks ago to do it then. Any advise on backyard wedding diy’s and how to plan a wedding that fast. I was all prepared but now I’m in panic mode! I guess it’s partly my fault but I just can’t wait because I’m too excited to marry my best friend!!!!

How many people are you hosting? Invitations should go out immediately. You will need to set a budget and get your dress now in case alterations are needed. Find a caterer and photographer. You can diy with flowers (Costco or Fiftyflowers.com) and figure out what kind of music you want.

I plan on hosting 100 people but I know a few extra people always show up. But it’s all just going to be close family and friends ( I come from a big family) so I just did an evite invitation because I know I don’t have time to get actual invitations out. And also it seems like everywhere cost and arm and leg for invitations. I already have the dress and taking it next week to start alterations. Already have the photographer as well ask make-up and hair. We are doing a good truck and I always forget about Costco’s flowers. Last but not least, already have the wedding playlist and what songs or for certain parts like me walking down the isle, first dance, etc. I really appreciate the advice!

Sounds like you're off to a good start for such a short time frame! Do you have officiant? Marriage license? Rentals (chairs, tables, linens, bathroom facilities)? Cake?

I do have an officiant and going to get the marriage license tomorrow. Do not have any of the rentals yet. We are actually having it at our house so I won’t have to worry about the bathroom facilities and we already have tables because we have get togethers pretty often and we will be using the house too. Only thing we need are chairs and linens for the tables.

Don’t forget cake and sanitizing stations. 100 people going to the bathroom is a lot unless you have atleast 5 bathrooms.

So let me get this straight you decided to get married on the same day as your friends? If that's the case, I would be pretty upset by this decision if I were your friends.

Get it straight! It is their “fiends” not “friends” 🙃
But seriously what you wrote sounds like you decided two weeks ago to get married on the same date as someone else and I agree… I would feel upset by this too if I were in the other person’s shoes.

Your post says “my friends are getting married and we decided 2 weeks ago to do it then.” That absolutely means that you’re choosing to marry on the same day as your friends. That may not be what you meant to say, but it’s 100% how it’s written in your post.

As for advice, as others have said, for 100 people household bathrooms usually aren’t enough so look into renting some. Keep in mind you’ll want tents, tables, and chairs. If you live in a place where it’s really hot in July you’ll need industrial fans or something similar. You’ll also want coolers or tubs filled with water bottles.

I just looked back at my post and I do apologize for getting snappy. I didn’t catch that typo in the beginning. What it was meant to say was “fiance”

I apologize to everyone especially the person I got snappy with because I just looked back and saw that typo. It was supposed to say “fiancé and I” but apparently my phone said otherwise🤦🏼‍♀️. And thank you for the advise. I definitely will look into renting bathrooms. We actually already have a tent and tables, just need the chairs. I was thinking of going to hobby lobby or something like that to get some tin pales and putting some ice and water in those and we also have a few coolers at the house as well already. We also already have a big ice machine maker in the garage since we do host a lot of big gatherings. So that’s helpful as well.
