Wedding in America, reception in Marrakesh

Hi there, my boyfriend and I just got engaged and want to have a destination wedding but have decided that our families would probably have a hard time getting there. We have decided to compromise by having a wedding in Austin with just our families and then having the reception/wedding party in Marrakesh. I have no idea how to plan this. I want to give legitimacy to the marrakesh part and have some structure but also it won't be an official wedding. Has anyone ever done this? Does anyone have any ideas as to how this could look? Any help is very appreciated.

    My friends had a DW in Mexico and had to go to the courthouse and get married in America to make it legit.
    They still had the ceremony and a party in Mexico.

    Is your family in Austin? So first, if you have a wedding where you invite people to be present, you need to have at least a small reception immediately following to thank them for coming. Do you have friends or family in Marrakesh? If not, it sounds like that may be a better spot for a honeymoon, and private celebration between the two of you?

    Many couples have a wedding in one location, such as a courthouse wedding, followed by a vow renewal or blessing with a wedding reception elsewhere. It’s totally possible!
