Good morning, my wedding is 2 weeks away and my venue told me that i need wedding insurance. Does anyone know anything about that? Thanks in advance!

My venue requires it as well. We are using covermyevent.com.

It's not unusual for a venue to require it. I would guess they mean liability insurance, but you should verify that with the venue. Insurance agents should be able to provide you with a policy for reasonable amount. An independent agent might be your best bet.

If it's just liability insurance, check with your cater before buying your own because they may already have liability insurance for the events they cater. Ours did. We are getting our $1 million liability insurance from our cater.

Wedsafe would be the way to go, I think. You can customize your coverage and it's easy to do online. It ends up being between $100-$200 per wedding.

We got insurance because we were worried about weather and general liability so we got USAA and I believe it was $89 (can't remember exactly)

When I as the Venues about Wedding insurance or venue Insurance they think that I am on drugs and have never heard of wedding insurance they say it might be an unneeded expense but I would rather be safe then sorry

Our wedding venue told us the same thing and they recommended us "wed safe" and that's what we ended up getting.
