Wedding Invitation Design Input...

Hi, Everyone!

I have a phone call tomorrow to brainstorm with our invitation girl (check our Serendipity Beyond Design if you want her to do your save the dates or invites, her work is incredible!) and I just wanted an opinion. I've attached some photos of the "style" of invitation we're going with (a boarding pass design to go with the fun destination/beach wedding theme), and because we're having a plated meal instead of a buffet at the reception, we plan to have guests select whichever meal option they want (beef, chicken, or veggie) on the RSVP card along with the other typical RSVP language.

Here's the dilemma... we are having a post-wedding send off brunch the next day and we will need to have people RSVP for that as well. We are doing a set menu in order to make it easier for the restaurant because of our anticipated party size (50 or so). I had thought about doing a double-sided RSVP card (one side with the wedding RSVP, the other side for the brunch RSVP), but now I'm starting to think that our invitations will look too convoluted with information.

I had thought about just using our wedding website for the brunch info along with the RSVP options there... what do you think? I feel like the wedding invitations should only be about the wedding itself. I do plan to have a blurb added to the invitation somewhere to at least mention the brunch along with the link to our website for more information and just leave it at that.

If anyone has any better suggestions, feel free to chime in! Thanks so much!

Can you not just include 2 different RSVP cards? One for dinner one for brunch?

I would add information about the date and time of the brunch on a details card, and request they RSVP for it on your wedding website (and include the link).

Daughter & SIL had a fairly formal wedding, with a separate Welcome Party that involved about half the total guests (large wedding party, extended families, and all out of town guests). Early on, daughter mentioned doing all RSVPs online.... I had concerns about that not being "traditional" or formal enough, but ultimately it was her choice. I have to say, it was awesome and worked perfectly for them. In addition to the wedding invitation and a separate smaller invitation for the Welcome dinner, she had a small card that asked guests to visit the website for additional details and to RSVP by a particular date. She used The Knot (after reading a lot of really bad reviews about WW's online RSVP function). She was able to set up two separate, but linked, RSVPs, each with menu selections, for the two events (so guests invited to both were prompted to respond for each). It worked perfectly for her and was so easy. A relative had gotten married the year before and did mail-in cards, and when she RSVP'd for daughter's wedding her response was "OMG! THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER.... Why did I NOT do this????" With the two separate invitation cards it was easy to send the right info to the right guests, and the only guests who did not use the the online RSVP were two elderly aunts. One wrote daughter a lovely handwritten note explaining she wasn't up to the cross-country trip and the second emailed me to tell me she didn't think her online attempt worked. We're nearly certain she overlooked clicking "submit" after completing her online RSVP, but it was easy for me to fix it. Especially with postage just going up again, except for a true Black Tie affair, I'd completely recommend online RSVPs. Good luck!
