Wedding Invitation host line wording, divorced parents & step parents are paying

Stephanie, on October 4, 2021 at 1:06 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 5

As the title says, I'm a bit stumped on wording. My fiancé's parents are divorced and remarried and so are mine. We are incredibly blessed that all of our parents & step parents are paying for our wedding ceremony (8 people, 4 couples total). We are not contributing financially to the ceremony but I want to DIY what I can to keep costs down. How would we word the host line(s) on our invitations? We are planning a very formal wedding. This is what I have for the host line but I feel like it's too long:

Mr and Mrs David Benowitz (my mother + step father)

Mr and Mrs Paul Adams (father + step mother)

along with

Mr and Mrs Gregory Seaberg (my fiancé's mother and step father)

Mr and Mrs Kenneth Wright (my fiancé's father and step mother)

...Any ideas on how to shorten the host line but still keep it formal?

Could you just put your names and then along with their families so as to not have it that long but still includes everyone

The most direct option is "Together with their families, bride's name and groom's name...." That's what we did, but some people insist on having their names on the invitation.

What you have is fine. You can eliminate “along with” for space. Otherwise I’d just make the font of the names a little smaller so they don’t take up too much of the page.

“Together with their families” is much cleaner. That’s just a lot of people’s names to go on an invitation.

We did “together with their families”.
