Wedding invitations on Facebook!!!

Lorith, on June 5, 2016 at 7:55 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 16

What a great idea!!! It's free and so easy. Everybody has Facebook!!! Why are any of you paying for invitations??!! People will just throw them away!!! Just make a Facebook event!!!!!!! So easy!!!! I'm kidding of course, but I thought you would all get a laugh out of this.

I got invited to a wedding via mass email to all members of my church, then after the ceremony it turned out that most of us werent welcome to the reception afterwards.

@Antonia Yes. People also bug for RSVPs and over share wedding details, then get surprised when their friend of a friend they only met once but have on FB gets mad he wasn't invited.

@materantiqua I'm an idiot.. I always thought your username was mantaray-something. Don't ask me how my eyeballs figured that lol.

But I've seen that! All sort of details and reminders on Facebook, smh. I saw a girl announce her bridal party on Facebook. Like.. announce it TO her bridal party. As if contacting them directly to ask was too much of a hassle...

I have a Facebook group but only people actually invited to the wedding are in it and can find it and I'm still sending invitations.

I wouldn't ever go to a wedding that sent out FB invites only. I have received shower or birthday invites via Facebook. I find it tacky.

My cousin did Facebook invites to her wedding. I still went, but I still thought it was rude. I mean my grandma is on FB but doesn't know anything about events and such invites on there... she had no idea that she was even invited to my cousin's wedding and got so mad that she thought my cousin forgot about her. Just because we are a technology based society does not mean proper invitations get thrown out the window.. not everyone logs into a computer everyday or knows how to use one.
