Wedding Invitations with Silhouette?

Dava, on October 24, 2017 at 6:27 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 6

Has anyone made their own wedding invites using a Silhouette or Cricut? It will be much cheaper to make them myself..but I dont want to compromise the look of them. If anyone has made their own wedding invites I would love to see them!

I haven't made mine yet because I still have a while before I need to send them out but my FH step mom has a cricut and I was planning on using it for the pockets. I have seen a ton of really beautiful invitations though! Maybe try out your design and see if you like it and if its a no go you don't waste a ton of money?

I have made my own up and they are going to be like $30 for the invite, rsvp, registry info card, and reception card and another $30ish for envelopes. I don't have a picture right now because they're not completely finished, but I think they look just fine for what I am aiming for (we're doing rustic so nothing extraordinary) and a few people have seen them and have liked them so I'm not too worried about it. Most people are going to throw them in the trash anyway, so I don't care about going all out spending hundreds on invites.

Mine aren't done yet but I did all the sleeves for them. They took forever, but I'm a designer so invitations are huge to me, regardless of whether or not they'll end up in the trash. It's my thing.

They cut fairly nicely but I had to change the blade out regularly.

I made my pocket folds and gold backing with my cricut. I didn't really care for the writing style of DS and it would take too long to write them with the cricut, i ordered the actual invitations and insert cards from vista print which were less than $35 for 50.

I plan on using the Cricut for mine although that may change since I'm still so far out. I'm gonna use the next year to practice and perfect how I want them and then see how I feel about it when the time comes! Or that may be just an excuse to play with it since it's just been sitting and I never get to use it!
