I'm currently working with vendors on last minute details and I've come up against the time on the wedding invitation vs the actual time of the ceremony. Most of my vendors tell me that it's typical to start 15 minutes after the invite time. My intention was to start at 4pm on the dot (I believe strongly in punctuality). I understand that IF something comes up and we're delayed, it is what it is. But, to give guests an extra 15 minutes to be late blows my mind.

Has anyone else come across this? What did you do - start on time or the "suggested" 15 minute window?

Our invites will say 7 and I'm walking down the aisle at 7. We paid for this time so we intend to get every minute of it. I think people (hopefully) should know to get there with enough time so that they are seated when the event starts.

Im going to let my guests know the ceremomy will start at 2p but please arrive by 145p. There are other weddings that day and we can not afford to be running behind. I've been weddings to where they started 15 mins late or right on time. I try my best to be 15 min before noted on the invite but have had to wait even 30 mins before ugh

At the venue for my wedding we are required to put the start time on the invitations, but can’t start ceremony for 30 minutes into contract time. For example our contact start time is 7pm, but we put 7:30 on our invitations.
