My brother-in-law. I get it. My sister has lupus and is immuno-compromised so he is anxious and looking out for her. They live in Canada (we are in Florida). But she told me not to cancel. We are still so far out. Having a wedding without her is not an option though. If the coronavirus comes back in December we will get married at the courthouse and just wait until it is safe to have a reception. I will 100% wear my big old wedding gown to the courthouse though!!

That’s awesome! Yes, we would probably do the same. Get married in courthouse. Then later on have the reception. I’m praying things get better just for everyone’s sake. Wish you the best!

Thanks girl! I worried about so many things in this wedding process. Never once did I think it could be derailed by some freak virus! It´s like something from a freaking movie! It´s hard to remember when we put so much money on it, but the commitment to our partners is more valuable than the party!

Absolutely! This also puts a lot of things into perspective. Without health none of this matters. I never imagined this either! This is a test of faith and stay hopeful!

I’m with you. I keep hearing about the second wave. So much anxiety 😬. My wedding is 12/12/2020. I hope we ll be okay! My venue won’t let me pick a back up date unless they know for sure they can’t open in dec.

I feel your anxiety! Ours is 12.30.2020 and considering postponing because of that second wave and it coinciding with flu season. There is just no sure way to know. We will probably make a decision August/ September with a plan B for December. I wish you well! Give it some time.

We’re going to make a decision in August/September, and we’ve selected a back up date if we have to. I’m coming to terms with this now though, because I feel like the likelihood of having large gatherings before a vaccine is unlikely. We have almost everything planned, and we talked to our wedding planner about the vendor polices on postponing. So we have a plan, not much more we can do unfortunately.

Yes, have reached out to our vendors. They were al flexible with postponing the date if needed. They would just need to know a month in advance. Even in August/ September, I feel like it’s hard to say what December will look like. Praying things go back to some kind of normal. We are in nyc and it’s pretty bad here. Our wedding however is in Miami.

Well, I made the call and postponed. It is such a bummer, but I don’t see much changing before December. We talked it over with our wedding planner and none of our vendors are charging a fee to postpone. So, bye Dec 2020 brides! Good luck!
