Wedding is in july only have 10 people i am inviting looking for ideas

Hi my wedding is in July 11 2020 in NJ. Me and my fiance dont have friends like that or deal with our EXTENDED The most IMPORTANT people that would attend is DECEASED. I refuse to do court house because the only reason I would go to court is for something BAD LOL not something good. With that being said I already have a fire hall booked but i want to actually change that because it would not make any sense to have a big wedding feel with a handful of people. Most people say I should be happy that its small because its budget friendly, but this isnt what i would imagine it would be like. But anyways I have been googling different restaurants in northern nj but most of them are italian. Im not looking for italian food for our wedding so if anyone knows a nice upscale restaurant in nj please let me know. Any feedback is appreciated also I can get a full refund with the hall if I cancel within 30 days of the wedding which is a option I may take.

It sounds like it’s best to look for restaurants with private rooms. A lot of them would be Italian food but I am sure you can find other restaurants with private rooms

My wedding will be at a historic mansion, some of those have a nice outdoor garden where you could do the ceremony, then reception inside. Also, in my area there are hotels that have rooftop terraces where you could have a ceremony, and then the reception is in one of the hotel meeting rooms. Not familiar with Northern NJ, but maybe some rooftops would have a view of Manhattan in the background or something like that.

Are you near the shore or anything? We have a small group, only like 20ppl. So we chose something intimate and memorable for our crowd. We're having a beach wedding then renting a charter for a sunset cruise

Hey I'm getting married June 20, 2020. I have only about 15 to 20 guests. We thought of having a reception but thought about it like it doesn't make any sense to do that. We just used hat money towards a better honeymoon. We are having a small wedding at a gazebo in a park. We are still searching for a restaurant to eat at for after the ceremony. Then we are going to a lounge later that night and have a VIP section and that next weekend go on our honeymoon

That sounds good i was thinking of that but the restaurants in nj where i am from and doing it act you would have to find one with a private room and food is extra so its either rent the room and feed the guest for over $1000 (where i am from). or do a reception. I booked a fire hall for only $560 for 4 hours was gonna do ceremony and reception there just my reception would be shorter. At the park in nj it cost $115 to rent the gazebo but then you are stuck with feeding your guest afterwards. so you can do the math on that one.

Newark has some of the best Spanish and Portugeuse food in the county and a lot of the highly rated restaurants will do private or semi-private parties. Here are my suggestions:

    1) The Adega Grill . The Grill is delicious and the atmosphere is cool (fire place, exposed brick walls, ect.) They can probably do one long table for the 10 of you and have a family style Portuguese feast! It is close to Newark Penn Station, too, which is convienient.

    2) The Fornos of Spain Restaurant . They have several private dining rooms and their own parking lot. The food is so good that we usually go as a large group every Father's Day. The décor is a bit kitchy, then again, kitchy can be fun depending on your crowd. I have only had wonderful service there and they would probably treat your group very well in recognition of the wedding.

    3) If you don't like the Iron Bound District, there is Marcus B&P is in the Historic District right off Halsey St. "American" food (burgers, chicken, ect) and a great bar. No private room but definitely space to seat all 10 of you together.
