Wedding items on registry

We're registered for a personalized cake cutting and serving set! Also registered for a nice wedding photo album!

I personally wouldn't register for anything that you intend to actually use at your wedding because some guests like to buy their gifts ahead of time and not give them to you until the actual wedding. I've definitely seen people register for gift cards to Artifact Uprising in order to design their own wedding album after the wedding though. Personalized gifts with your wedding date are also great to register for. I'd just be careful because there isn't really any guarantee that if someone buys the thing you registered for, that you would receive it before the wedding.

If you're having a shower, I think it's fine. Otherwise, as Hanna said, someone may purchase it and not give it to you until the wedding day. In that case, it wouldn't be much use to you.

I would not register for wedding specific items, outside of a wedding photo album or frame. If you are registering for wedding items, you are basically asking your guests to pay for part of your wedding. I see that as a little tacky.

We put a personalized knife set on our registry and someone mailed it to us after sending save the dates. You could always add it and if it gets close to the wedding and you it’s not purchased yet, you can buy it and delete it from the registry.

View Quoted Comment That’s a great idea! We literally have everything we need and won’t have but maybe 5 items on a registry. I know people will want to give us thoughtful gifts at my shower and a customized picture guest book and cake carving set would be the most meaningful to us.
