Wedding Lineup by Height

Miranda Landry, on February 2, 2022 at 1:59 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 8
Hi, so I’ve been doing some research since I need to hand in a form to my venue of my wedding lineup. There are certain people that I’d like closer to me at the altar, but most websites are saying that your lineup should be ordered by height to look good in pics. Did anyone not do their lineup based on height and have pics of how it looked?

I prefer when its not by height honestly. Your photographer will generally mix up your party for formal photos anyway.

We didn't line ours up by height. Since my husband's wedding party consisted of his dad and brothers, we lined them up by age. (dad - best man, then brothers were GM, so we did oldest to youngest).

I just partnered by bridal party with who they'd mesh well with when walking and taking formal photos. Like Elycia stated, your photographer will most likely mix the wedding party up during photos, so height won't really be an important factor.

Thanks! That’s a cool idea! I love how he had his dad as his best man. I’m thinking of making my mom my matron of honor even though I already have a maid of honor, my best friend since freshman yr hs. Did his dad also go to the bachelor party?
All of our groomsmen and bridesmaids are around the same age though so I’ll probably be ordering them on who I want closest to me and who they’d be most comfortable around Smiley smile

Yes his dad went! It was his dad, brothers, and a few close friends that went together on his bachelor's and they had a great time! They drank, went to the casino, the beach, and golfed!

I think ordering them by closeness and who they're most comfortable around is a great idea!

That’s awesome! I’m also having my bachelorette going casino and bar hopping. I’d love the idea of my mom tagging along at my bachelorette bc she’s my best friend but I’m not sure she’ll will be up for our shenanigans that night lol 😂 sounds like you guys had a great time though!

We are not doing this but it's an interesting idea.... I want my sister closest to me, irrespective of her height. I also don't think this would work well for us anyway - my fiance is definitely going to be the tallest of all in the center at 6'11", and his two brothers don't have much between them in height so it would be fine on his side, but I am taller than my sister, and my SIL, who is my other bridesmaid, is much taller than either of us, so there would be no order that would go from shortest to tallest on my side.

We're definitely not doing it by height either! We put them in the order we wanted them to stand next to us.
