Why don't you go through your bank?

I am definitely going to ask them, I just know back when I needed a personal loan before the interest rate was higher than I had expected.

If you get cash back on any of your credit cards you could put larger purchases on those and use the cash for smaller stuff as well.

Since she indicates that she's looking for a low APR, she presumably won't be paying it all back the same month. And interest rates on credit cards are typically very high--much higher than the cash she could get back.

Lowest APRs are typically on secured loans--e.g., a home equity line of credit, or a loan against your 401(k) plan. Of course, you have to make sure you can repay the loan, because you could lose your home or your 401(k) plan if you don't pay them back. Or if you are a student, student loans typically have interest rates below those of other loans.

Beyond that, your best option is to look at something like Lending Tree, so you can compare rates.

Sorry, worst idea EVER!! interest on cash for credit cards starts day 1 when you get the cash. There is no grace period like there is in a cc purchase.

Definitely not going to pay that month, but I need an extra 6 months. Basically if I divide the total
by the months I can’t save that much. Just want what I want but also don’t wanna pay ridiculous interest lol.

Thanks everyone. I actually think going to be okay. Forgot about tax season! Then there is another tax season 2 months after.

I am 1/5 siblings, so unfortunately my dad was only able to give a small amount to make it equal. My FH is definitely helping.

    Define ridiculous interest.

Personal loans are going to carry interest rates that are higher than the 'cheapest' money (generally mortgage and home equity) because they are unsecured...there is no hard asset that the bank can foreclose on if you don't pay the debt.

Credit card loans, as pointed out by another poster, are normally going to be the highest. Some cards will offer special deals where you can just 'write a check' and enjoy either an interest-free or low-interest period, but those deals are usually offered to their best customers.

You have over a year until your wedding. I would suggest you will have better luck finding more creative ways to save money, or earn extra, than finding 'cheap' money to finance a wedding expense.

I’m going to be fine after all, had to finish calculations last night. If I wasn’t paying for it all it would be different but we still have two mortgages, so that’s what is making it most challenging. Hopefully that will all be fixed soon!

I used a Southwest Credit Card, but we also paid ours off every single month so we carried no debt. We used the cc so we could get a companion pass & not pay for the flights to Hawaii for our honeymoon. I don't think the interest rate is great, but again, we didn't take on any debt.
