I found that unless you have $$$$ to spend on a super extravagant wedding, they aren't very useful or realistic. The only good things I found in them were dresses, cakes and tips. Between WW and pinterest you have all the info you need, I'd save my money. Smiley smile

Just go to a local bookstore or news stand and buy 1 local (statewide if necessary) magazine (to see local venues and vendors).

I wouldn't subscribe to a magazine; typically you have to do a year and that would just be silly at this point. I do love hard copies of magazines (rather than Pinterest, although I love Pinterest too), so I'd just go to the grocery store and buy a few and go from there. The only one I can think of off the top of my head right now is Brides.

@Mitzua - what are you looking for from the magazines? Inspiration, just the general wedding excitement?

You can do literally everything online now Smiley smile Check out the Ideas section under the "More" tab in the top menu for wedding inspiration!

Also here is WW's summerbook from last year with a ton of summer wedding inspiration:

I bought a couple at my local grocery store. At least one said they were in my metropolitan area.

@WWLynnie yea I'm just looking for inspiration like how to do my hair or what will look good with my gown. Also I haven't decided on the theme I feel like I'm running out of time maybe magazine can help me. I feel like I am not planning as much as I should.

Magazines are designed to help advertisers sell their most expensive products--not to help real couples with their weddings. Check Pinterest or other online sources instead.

And you don't need a theme.

I think they are basically pointless.

I've found the articles "Brides" posts on Facebook all the time to be very helpful with some things. Pinterest helped with my hair.

If you go to a bridal expo, you might get a subscription for free. I've been married for almost two years and I still get those damn magazines.

As soon as I got engaged I spend about $65 on a bunch of wedding magazines....they were ALL HORRIBLE. Nothing but advertisements. No relevant info. Go to Barnes and Noble, flip through the pretty pictures, save your money and shop online (Dresses are here, the knot, pinterest etc.) SAVE YOUR MONEY

Most are horrible I agree, 70% ads. BUT I really love Martha Stewart Weddings. I'd also say look at a local wedding mag for your city or state so you can get ideas for specific vendors.
