What is the going rate for a make up artist, for a wedding and do the bride pay for the wedding party make up to be done?

My makeup is $150 with the trail run. This is for airbrush makeup, and it was pretty average price when I was researching. It's a nice gesture to pay for your wedding party if they want to get their makeup professionally done. I'm not paying for my girls, but I also doubt many of them will want it.

It differs in every state & city. I paid $240 for bridal hair and makeup, $140 for bridesmaids/moms hair and makeup, $80 for the trial, $40 for travel, and $200 for each additional artist after 2 artists.

Luckily all my girls do pretty well with their own makeup and I have about 3 years of experience in mua so I'll help them if needed. Since I'm the bride I will be getting mine done by someone else (I think) I'm picky about my face. I want a soft glam look. I should do it myself but I'm sure my nerves will be on edge that day so I'm just going to get an artist I trust to fulfill my vision.

MrsD, thanks I appreciate your reply. I'm having a destination wedding in Vegas. I may find different pricing from couple different vendors.

If you are requiring their make up to be done professionally or you are requiring a specific look, then you should pay for the service. Otherwise, be okay with your girls doing their own hair and make up.

It varies by region and travel time, but in my area bridal airbrush makeup is in the $150-$175 range and hair is $100-$120.

    Blair,

Thanks, for the reply my bridesmaids don't really wear makeup, but I would like for them to do at least a little light makeup.

    Hello Megan,

I was inquiring about it professionally being done, I've been getting about 100.00 a people, so I guess that is the going rate. Thanks for you reply.

Mine was/will be $180 for airbrush & lashes and the trial. The rest of the party is $80 each (airbrush & lashes as well). They are coming to our hotel and there are no additional travel fees.

$100 per person for makeup. Bridal at $120.
If you are making it mandatory for your party to have their makeup done, then you pay.

If it's optional, then it's not mandatory that you pay for them.
