What is your budget on your wedding make-up? Also, are you covering the charge for your bridal party’s make-up?

I’m pretty good at makeup so I will more than likely be doing my own but my little sister is also extremely good so she is doing all my bridesmaids! I lucked out 😉

To book my girl she had a minimum of $850 in services including trial. I’m not requiring anyone get their hair or makeup done professionally so if they choose to they are going to pay me back. To get around my sister not “matching” I’m going to ask what products she’s using during the trial then pass it along to my sister so she can at least get a similar color/dupe or buy the exact product so she somewhat matches. I wanted all my bridesmaids to look like themselves and my makeup artist seems to be really good at doing natural yet glam makeup that accentuates rather than making people look completely different. My sister doesn’t wear much makeup as it is so I’m not too worried about her not being as glam as everyone else. It’s all personal preference though! And I’ll also say I went back and forth for a while about doing my own or having my maid of honor do it but honestly the stress that could cause on an already busy day it was worth it to just book someone and get pampered

Minimum of $800 and I thought the quotes that I was getting was too much! Well at least that includes the consultation. Will she be doing the make up at the venue? I definitely understand wanting to look like yourself I definitely agree with not having so much make up on that you look like a completely different person.

Woah. I guess I got lucky. I am paying $35 for my makeup. I made it optional for my bridesmaids to get it done at their own cost.

Yes, $35 is amazing!! I think it’s a great idea that you are making it optional for your bridesmaids at their own expense.

Here in Raleigh I’ve been quoting $500 for makeup for myself and two bridesmaids. Don’t even get me started on hairstyle!!! I’m not paying that much for makeup. So we’re going to do our own makeup!!

With my wedding I will honestly probably just have my sister do my makeup. She did her own for her wedding and it turned out fine. The maid of honor and two bridesmaids are able to do their own makeup. If they want to pay to get it professionally done they can.

I was blindsided by how expensive it is in my area (Bay Area).
One of the cheapest bridal hair and makeup quotes I got was $400. Plus $200 for the trial.
Yes, I received much higher quotes. Wild.
Bridal party price was $100 for hair, $100 for makeup. I'm letting my girls choose if they want it done or not.

If you are good at doing your own make-up I think that's the best way to go! Does the $500 include a consultation?

It's great that you have a sister that can do make-up! If I did I would do the same for sure!

Great idea. I'm sure the Bay Area is way more expensive than the Atlanta area. It's crazy how much wedding make-up cost!

I'm having a friend who has a self employed makeup business with SeneGence do my makeup, She's been a friend for about 3 years and is fantastic at makeup! She is doing me and my 4 bridesmaid's makeup and when I asked about compensation, she said "You're kidding, right?!". I'll will be paying her a little bit, but I suggest finding a friend who is fantastic at makeup! It will really help save some money.

I spent $0 on wedding makeup. I just did my own and it turned out great. My MOH did her own as well.

I wanted to pay for everyone's hair and makeup, but I don't think it's going to be in our budget, so I made hair and makeup optional for everyone. Overall it'll be $717 for myself, five bridesmaids, and two moms.

My friend is a make up artist so I only have to pay $30 so I can’t complain and she’s amazing and I’m not paying for the girls make up because I got them all free hair dos and they only have to pay my price on the make up so it’s not bad

$100 for me (not having BM’s). But my MUA had an $85 and $90 option too. I do makeup ans could easily do my own. But I refuse to do anything on my wedding day besides sit back and enjoy! 😁

My makeup trials were in San Francisco as well. One was $200 and the other was $300. There was one that wanted $500 for a trial so I cancelled that. Ridiculous how expensive it is here. I was told $200 for a trial is average.

For bridal makeup on the day of it is $500-600 and bridesmaids are $150-$200. I haven’t booked yet. Sigh.
