Wondering if I should do a makeup trail? What has everyone else done or is going to do?

Yes you should because if you do not like the style of the hair or make up the day of is not when you realize that and there is not much you can do.

I'm planning to do one for mine!! I think most people do. This way you can see if they need to change anything before the big day Smiley smile

I’m really picky about my makeup so I’ve decided to do my own! But if you’re going to go with a stylist I would 100% do a trial just in case you don’t like it. I’ve seen some brides post here that they’ve had 4 makeup trials and not liked any, so you just want to make sure that you are happy!

I didn’t do a trial and was fine but it’s definitely personal preference!

I know, it’s so crazy!! That’s why I decided to do it; paying for the nice makeup was expensive but if I wasted money on trials that I didn’t like, that would have been worse for me. I went through the same process as you are with my hair stylist since I already booked her for the wedding day, but I ended up going for the trial for piece of mind, and I’m so happy I did it! I think that your makeup trial will get you more excited for your big day and give you confidence knowing that the makeup will be exactly how you like it. And if there’s anything that you don’t like or want her to change, you can figure it out ahead of time instead of panicking in the moment or even fixing it yourself that day (I’ve heard of that happening to a lot of people also!) Hopefully everything is seamless and perfect though Smiley smile

I did it because I normally don't wear makeup so I want to see how it will look like the day off & make adjustments if needed. I also scheduled it on the same day as our engagement session so it wasn't a total waste.

I'm doing a trial the same day as my bridal portraits. Two birds, one stone!

No probably. I have had two of my friends on their day of dislike their hair so that is where I learned about trials lol.

Yes! I have oily skin and my skin tends to breakout easy. I want to make sure that 1. I like the makeup. 2. It's good for my skin. 3. I'm gonna look how I Invision. I recently was in a wedding for a friend and she had a makeup artist come do all our makeup. It was not good. The foundation was way too light for my skin tone and the fake lashes didn't stay in place. Plus the girl never washed her hands from the time they started till they left. I'm weird when it comes to that. They knew my wedding is this year and have asked to do my bridal party and I told them no.

I did two before booking, with two different stylists. That was about a year out, so after I booked one I did another trial a month out. I'm super picky about hair & makeup so I wanted to make sure I was happy with it.

I have my hair and make-up trial scheduled for a night that my FH has a large work dinner and Auction night. It is a huge fundraiser for the college he teaches at and is a really formal event so it is the perfect time to get it done. I can’t wait!!!

Definitely do a makeup trial especially if you're debating between a few looks or if you're trying a bold lip color you don't normally wear

I'm doing a trial because I don't usually wear any make up so I want to get used to what it will feel like and to perfect the look I'm wanting.
