Wedding makeup

Bride, on March 9, 2020 at 9:07 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 1 10
I am looking for recommendations for face products to do my own wedding makeup. I am a little ocd when it comes to my makeup. I haven’t liked how my makeup was done any time I have had it professionally done, so I have chosen to just buy the products and do it myself. This doesn’t worry me at all, I love doing my makeup, just have no clue what products to test for long wear and good for photos.

Mainly just looking for a primer and full coverage dewy foundation that work well together.

I have combo skin. My cheeks tend to be drier, but my forehead and chin get pretty oily. Also, I am VERY pale, so it’s sometimes hard for me to find a good color match.
Not trying to spend a ton of money, either. Maybe $50 max for primer and foundation.

I love love love Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer & Dr Brandt's pores no more primer. The tinted moisturizer is obviously not full coverage but it covers nicely.

I'm very fair with cool undertones. I will be doing my own makeup for the wedding. I am only willing to spend so much on makeup, so I focused on drugstore brands with great reviews online. The foundation was my biggest concern, because I normally wear low-coverage makeup, but wanted something with more coverage for the wedding. I was very impressed with the elf foundation for the price.

I may add a cream blush for some additional color. I've also seen the suggestion to wear a lipstain under your lipstick so you still have color on your lips if your lipstick gets wiped off during kissing, eating, drinking, etc.

Primer - IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Makeup Primer (got a trial size from IPSY)

Foundation - elf Flawless Finish Foundation

    Contour - Nyx Wonder Stick

Eyeshadow - Milani Soft and Sultry Eyeshadow Palette

Eyeliner - Covergirl Perfect Point Waterproof Eyeliner

Mascara - Undecided - Covergirl Lashblast or Covergirl Clump Crusher

Lipstick - Clinique Pop Lip Colour in Plum Pop

Finishing Spray - Nyx Matte Finish Makeup Setting Spray

Ooh thanks! Elf is cheap enough that I won’t be out a ton of money if I try it and don’t like it. I’ve used a few of their products, but never their foundation. Thanks for the recommendations & the tip for my lips. I would have never thought about that!!!

Go to a Sephora and get samples of foundations and primers. The samples they give you will be enough to do a full face or two. Then you can try them out for a full day way before hand. Then you can go back right before your wedding and get another sample of your favorite to use on your wedding day. Boom free make up!

I use MAC makeup, it’s the best! Any time I try samples from Sephora, the makeup seems really heavy to me. I recommend them over all brands!

For only $6, I think its a great product and definitely something that I will keep on hand. I've been wearing it for the last few days to make sure it doesn't separate or fade throughout the day. I'm happy with the results. Their foundation works better than some higher end brands that I have tried.

I like MAC, too. However, I’m looking for a smaller price tag. Lol
