Wedding Matchbook favors - anyone doing these?

Sandi, on December 26, 2012 at 1:12 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

Hello! Is anyone doing these as one of their favors? I love this idea, but was wondering if $70 was too much to pay for them? I'm going to need about 200 of them, so I think the price is fair, but just wanted to get opinions... is there a good site I can find good quality ones at that I can personalize?

I am doing them. Just leaving them at the bar for people to take if they want. We got ours from theknot.com they always have sales, not sure how much we paid.

Yes we are. We are doing them because we have both been to SO MANY weddings where there are a ton of favors left over because a lot of people don't take them, or because they are something people can't use/don't want. Our thought is - everyone can use matches - and if people leave them behind - WE can use matches. We can't use 25 sets of salt and pepper shakers that people left on the table, lol.

I can't remember exactly where I got them. Let me look at my old receipts...we paid something around $75 for 150 of them.

I'd bail on it, really. All that 'little' stuff adds up.

I like the idea of matchbooks. Have you thought about maybe ordering like 100 since maybe a lot of guests will leave them behind or not take them. Just a suggestions.

We are going to be giving out match books so our guests can light their sparklers at the end of the night. I haven't bought them yet though. Where did you find them for $70.00.

I thought that I would give chocolate. I say a really cute saying with the matchbooks that had me thinking again about the chocolate but I wasnt for sure. I was ordering favor boxes from Orentailtrading.com but I wanted to wait to get reviews on their product first.

I got mine from David's Bridal online. All of my guests really liked them. Made a lot of comments about them. I even had people ask me if I had any left over, because they wanted them and failed to pick them up off of the grooms table.

Do your guests use matches? If so, it might be a good idea. If they do not, you are wasting money on something that most will never notice.

Those who take them will probably take a book or two so I would order extras. It will be something you can use if they are leftover. It's always a good idea to go with something edible or that you will use if you have a lot leftover.
