Wedding Mishaps

Raelynn, on July 19, 2021 at 1:50 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
When you lose a venue and a bridesmaid 81 days out from the wedding 😅 how is everyone else’s planning going as the day approaches? Feel free to vent about any mishaps or in the comments, I need commiseration or a good laugh right now. 😂

Oh no, were you able to find a replacement venue? Thankfully, my husband and I haven't run into any mishaps for our upcoming reception this October. We are 75 days out as of today!

Wow, you have no venue any more?? I'm so sorry to hear that! Are you able to find another one in the same area, or do you need to postpone your wedding? Ugh, hope this works out for you. Not having a bridesmaid is such a small thing compared to no venue, so there's a silver lining there...somewhere.

We are looking for replacements as we speak with a few good promising options, so our fingers are crossed. Good for you, I hope that the rest of your planning continues to go well!

Nothing COVID-related, but our venue made empty promises and didn’t follow through, so we don’t feel comfortable continuing with them as it’s not logistically possible in many ways now. We are touring a few places in the same area today with our date available, so we are pretty hopeful about having it the same day! Even if we needed to, we’d likely “elope” on our set date and then postpone and have a reception later! Yes the bridesmaid issue is definitely smaller. Unfortunately losing that bridesmaid was at the cost of our friendship, but it was a long time coming, and I was able to have my future sister-in-law step in.

I’m sorry you’re dealing with the headache of finding a new venue. We also had a thousand changes last year, most due to Covid. Postponed once three weeks out, then postponed the reception a couple of months later with the plan to do a minimony in a national park. Exactly one week out from our ceremony date, the park was closed due to air quality conditions caused by wildfires. Scrambled to find a venue in less than a week, but weren’t allowed to use the location we wanted to for the ceremony, so used a separate location. Had our adventure shoot a month later in Yosemite and finally ended up canceling our reception a month ago. Everything ended up working out, but man, was there some stress involved (and I’m not someone who typically stresses about anything!)

Oh no! I can’t believe all of that happened I’m so sorry. Although doing something similar to you is sounding more and more appealing now! Luckily we haven’t had to deal with any COVID related cancellations yet, although it’s a possibility with the Delta variant becoming prevalent in our area. Glad that everything ended up working out for you!

Fingers crossed that Delta doesn’t make any problems for you! You’re going to have an amazing day, regardless of any mishaps or changes!
